  Nelson Barbour, for all his weirdness, has some excellent thoughts on the nature of spirit beings as revealed in the Bible. See his Three Worlds.

  Other than historical interest, that's probably the ONLY thing he wrote that is worth while.

  Does anyone actually believe that Russia blew up its own gas pipeline?

  the claim that russia blew up its own pipeline functions, whether intentionally or not, as a test of our collective intelligence, and it’s worrisome how many fail the test.

  as a former pentagon official put it, “a child could tell you that doesn’t make sense”.

  they talk a lot about russian propaganda and suppression of their media, which i don’t doubt for a minute.

  Putin may be stupid enough to do it. It is in his advantage to raise the price of gas. But do I think the Russians did that? No. Still it IS possible. How about that for vacillating?

  Gun Ownership - A question for American Witnesses (or Ex-Witnesses)

  i would like to ask a question regarding gun ownership in the active american witnesses community.

  while rifle ownership has been put in the same category as spear guns and fishing rods, how has the issue of pistol ownership been handled in us congregations?

  One of my uncles, a long-serving elder, had a pistol and no one questioned it. He used it for competitive, timed shoots. That is, how fast and accurate can you be on targets at distance. He'd still own it, he says, but one of his brother in laws stole it.

  i grew up in a magnificent, 3-story, greek revival house on the once very rural staten island ny.

  the house was originally part of a huge compound, cannery, farm, and wbbr radio station owned by the watchtower society.

  my late grandparents purchased 1065 woodrow rd in 1957 and that is where i spent the next 12 years of my life.

  This appears to be George M. Russell. The problem is there were at least four with that name living in or associated with Staten Island and Brooklyn. Best I can do at this time.

  Hi Jan,

  No, the Westboro Baptists do not represent most Baptist faiths. Baptists in general, in America at least, no longer know their Bible, do not see it as fully relevant, do not follow it, at least not as men of faith. They are Biblically illiterate.

  Does Lloyd Boy realize that he's become irrelevant? He lost most of his patrons. His videos are on the silly side, repetitious, full of logic faults, resembling a 7 year old's "that's not fair!"

  I have visited many churches and had more conversations with clergy and lay people than I can count. I probably med a few people who knew God as well as one can. But a church that as a whole that knows God. I haven't found one yet.

  Mom associated with an Abrahamic Faith congregation for quite a while. They have some basic similarities to Witnesses without wild prophetic speculation and dictatorial administration. But she left eventually, staying friends with some, but unable to tolerate some behaviors.

  Christians are where you find them. I mean a God following individual may be anywhere despite what their church is. Baptists? Hardly. They do not know the Bible and as a group do not follow it.
