So how is Fat Tony getting 'shelter' if he's no longer at headquarters? I'm sure there are plenty of struggling JW's who'd appreciate that kind of assistance.

what if a witness doesn't believe some of the official teachings of the governing body but remains silent on these subjects to avoid being disfellowshipped?

is he or she an apostate to the faith?

i’m new to apostate stuff but have gone deep down a few rabbit holes of late so want to see both sides to everything .

im going to a congregation but am viewed as a bit of a black sheep because i question lots of things but not enough to cause too much trouble.. i’m intrigued watching the show.

in my heart i’m pretty sure the governing body are fakes and charlatans.. the entire thing is a big con game.

Do what you have to do but don't fall for the lie that there's anything wrong with being apostate. Apostasy is nothing more than changing your mind. Explaining your reasons for that is just being human.

People with indefensible positions will demonise former members who undermine their ideology with reason and evidence because they have no rational arguments to protect them.

Name calling is infantile.

Welcome to the forum Teddnzo and good on you for having an inquisitive and even-handed approach.

I'd argue that "the top several points that prove JWs wrong" are the very same points that prove ALL of Christianity wrong. Maybe that's not what you want to hear but it's true anyway.

Virgins don't have babies, men can't walk on water and corpses don't come back to life.

Only baptised JWs will make it?

i think it was a john cedars video or someone else’s where the point was brought up that only baptised jws will be saved?

then one talk about kids of baptised jws hope they will make it but even them don’t know.

most jws probably think that some good people who are not baptised may make it through, but this is not official teaching?.

Did Jesus say the God of the OT is not the same God as mine??

bart erhman states, in this you tube short presumably taken from the video series he has been doing with megan lewis*, that jesus said the god of the ot, the god of jeremiah, is not the (same)god as jesus.

bart continues "jeremiah's god killed (the children) - jesus said let the children come to me.

jesus' god said turn the other cheek" - the ot god was war-like etc (paraphrasing bart here a bit).. it's always been the thing that stopped my fully embracing the bible after leaving watchtower.

Creating doubt is a good thing, doubt is the engine that drives research. Without doubt where would curiosity be? What new truths would remain undiscovered if no-one ever doubted orthodoxy?

Terrible attitude. Fossils and corpses don't move, the living should be ever moving and inquisitive.
