I had a huge bonfire a few years ago where we watched the old bound volumes go up in smoke. A beautiful sight for sure! A little bittersweet too, as I threw on the Brittanicas too, as well as my Chess Informants. Things have changed.

Hooray! Bound volumes in the trash!
by stillin inmy wife has held onto them like they were family heirlooms.
we are cleaning and clearing out accumulated stuff and i pointed out that there is the cd-rom library now and that the society has made revisions and really doesn't want us to be reading the old stuff.
she said that even though there have been changes to the teachings, the wrong understanding served its' purpose at the time.

How many anointed have come and gone; how many remain?
by Moster injust wondering if there is any data about how many anointed there were in say 1914, and considering most would have passed 'beyond the veil' already, are the jw's numbers adding up?
we know there are more in 2017 then there were in 2016, but just where are we in the grand total column?.

They invented the 'great multitude' in 1935 for this very same reason, the number of anointed JWs was growing and would soon be approaching 144000 and they couldn't explain it

I purchased some of the reprinted literature from the Chigago Bible Students about 20 years ago. Invaluable reference material. I don’t know if they still do that, I would think so.
