A.N.Z.A.C. Day 25th April 2017.
by zeb inthis day is when there are memorial services across australia and new zealand for our nations' war dead.. on the 25th april 1915 the australian and new zealand army corp' swept ashore at a beach on the mainland of turkey at a place they call galliboli or gallipoli as it is known to us.
the soldiers were landed at the wrong beach and were shot to hell they faced cliffs and thick coastal scrub.
they were supposed to be landed some miles further along the coast which was lightly defended and flat sandy beaches.

I remember Ron Soliday too. He was a circuit overseer in our area in the 80's. I remember he showed us the football field where he broke his leg that ended his playing career in high school.

The whole world is not comprised of western anglosphere people
by fulltimestudent incouldn't help thinking the above when reading something about china today,.
it was about a chinese boy band (a pop group organised and trained straight out of the same manual that turns out successful kpop (south korean) boy bands.
the chinese one is called tfboys, and they have zoomed in popularity.

As another earlier poster said, there are some artists who use magazines and other photos to get the images and perspective of virtually everything they do. I worked with an artist for a time, who later (mid 80's) went to bethel into the art department. I watched him draw, moved the scaffold, etc (he was painting a mural in a Kingdom Hall). If he wanted to draw a deer, he had to have a photo of a deer and to copy its form, the way its legs were positioned, everything about it. He couldn't just 'draw a deer' from memory or imagination. So if the artist for the Live Forever drawing was like that, he must have had the 'Stern' photo available and copied the girl from it.

Awesome! I do question the date. Was 1904 movie technology capable of doing that?

OK, as a followup, I am disabled and have a disabled parking placard, but I don't use a wheelchair. I parked yesterday in the parking garage at work and parked in one of the parking spaces that are wider, specifically for those with wheelchairs. I was a bit outside the lines, too. I got a ticket from the security staff!
LOL, I thought of Terry and this post.

I had a disabling injury two years ago and went from able-bodied to disabled overnight. I didn't realize until then how fantastic the handicap access laws are. So while the old man may have been rude and even mean, I understand where he is coming from.

Do You Recall WT radio Dramas? (PSA's about 13 min)
by Wasanelder Once inin the 1960's and early 70's there were wt dramas on subjects of morality sent to radio stations to fulfill their required block of religious broadcasts.
the familiar voices are there in the dramas.

I remember them. We had the reel to reel tape recordings at the time and my father had the job to take them down to the radio station. They were really boring, as I recall.

Go bags?
by punkofnice ini heard recently that there was a talk given at the kh about having a 'go bag' ready because the big 'a' must be soooo close as evidenced by syria and the russian jobo thing.. does anyone know if this 'go bag' thing is substantiated in publications or just a local nut job being paranoid and attention seeking?.
i also wonder about this 'go bag' thing, apparently, you need to make sure your biscuits (that's cookies to my over the pond friends), are not out of date.
don't carry water, it's too heavy.. too many questions do i have.

I think it is more about disaster preparedness.
