I didn't know that Camping used 'day for a year' and that type of calculation. Is he still alive?

JW Ideal candidates for Life Insurance?
by MNLifeAgent ini am not a jehovah's witness, although i do respect your religion entirely.
i am 27 years old, and live in minnesota.
i have an older cousin, who's mother (not with my uncle -separated when my cousin was a baby) had been a witness, grew up in your word, and about 12 years ago she fully converted.

I heard a JW once say he didn't need life insurance because he was going to live forever. I think he died a few years ago.

Have any ex-jws considered joining the Bible Students?
by Rainbow_Troll intheir fundamental beliefs are much like jehovah's witnesses sans the paranoia, authoritarianism, stifling rules, and end-times enthusiasm.
you don't even have to become a bible student to be saved, you could be an idol worshipping heathen and still get resurrected in the milenium.
if i still believed in the divine inspiration of the scriptures, i would be a bible student.

I used to have some of p s l Johnson's 'Epiphany Studies in the Scriptures' (LHMM). I found it bizarre. His use of types and anti types made Fred Franz look like a sissy.

by dropoffyourkeylee inat a 3-day convention in nairobi, kenya this week 12-2-16 through 12-4-16, they had 70,000+ attendance, and there were 792 baptized (i presume the baptism was yesterday).

At this assembly, attendance the first day was 58,000, the second was 70,000. From the photos it appears to be a soccer stadium, also has track and field, quite large.

I think it was an international assembly. The people I know that are there are residents of another African country and traveled to Nairobi just for the convention.

Why did Jehovah's Witnesses release the Byington and New Jerusalem Bibles in the early 70s , and forget about them in the 80s?

The availability at the literature counter of non-WT published Bibles or other publications (like the Strong's Concordance) came to an abrupt halt, at least in the US, when the donation arrangement came in around 1990.

Full time service for 24 years? How old is he? Maybe he sold his soul and doesn't age.

I believe that in the scan in the previous post, the Bibles listed as 'Controlled Stock Items' were not printed by the WT, but were distributed by them through the literature counter. I still have a couple of the mentioned versions which I remember purchasing at the KH. The Tanakh Bible, for instance, was published by the Jewish Publication Society of America (Old Testament only, of course). On the other hand, there were other non-WT bibles which the WT society also printed on their own presses. They had a KJV, and ASV, which were published by other publishers as well. The Byington, though was published solely by the WT, and no one else has ever had the rights to it, to my knowledge. There were some bootleg PDFs floating around the internet at one time, perhaps those were the subject of the lawsuit mentioned in the OP.
