It is curious how often the leaders of a religious belief of the 'end' build up their hype with the end date about 30-40 years in the future when they will be old. It's like they are setting their life's work ahead of them. Examples, William Miller 1844, Charles Russell 1914, Fred Franz 1975.

If they keep a moratorium on KH builds for too long, it will come back and bite them eventually. The whole scene relies on the assumption they will resell the halls in time, keep the proceeds, and build another with donated labor. If they don't resume the new builds, they will be left holding the aging buildings and maintenance. Some are lost thru fire and disaster too and they don't carry insurance. -

JWs, UFO's, demons, and the book "The Dark Gods"
by MikeHammer ini have been looking into this issue that (many/most/all/etc) ufos are caused by demons as seems to be said by jws.
some time ago when i browsed this site i read a posting where someone recommended a book titled "the dark gods" by roberts and gilbertson (here is a link to the book at amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/dark-gods-anthony-roberts/dp/009138771x).. besides that one there are a couple of other books that i have checked (one of these is "operation trojan horse" by john keel and the other one is "a guide to the paranormal" by magnus raven).
both of these say the same thing although they approach this issue from different directions.. looking at the amazon reviews for "the dark gods" it looks like it also says the same thing but the book is out of print.

Other than a few crackpots, I don't recall any JWs saying that UFOs were demons. There's always the loony ones, though. The books on the OP sound interesting, worth a look. -

This is the property that was directly across the road from the old Gilead site, which had sold a number of years ago. But about 500 acres still was operated by the JWs as Kingdom Farm. We drove by the site in the summer of 2014 and observed some barns and routine work of mowing grass, etc.

Having read both of Franz's books, more than once, I owe a lot to him for giving a structure to my discomfort with the religion I was raised in. Even if his motives were not pristine, he has my gratitude.
If he and Dunlop had been successful, the WT might be very different than it is now, maybe even tolerable.
The Worldwide Church of God did an about face some years ago, so it is possible such a change could happen in the WT, but I won't hold my breath.

Revelation - it's grand climax is at hand
by Listener insome people point out the subliminal pictures in the wtbts publications but sometimes things are just so obvious, such as the title of the book above.. the person who came up with the title for this book must have had a good old laugh.. interestingly, this book first came out in 1988 and has not been included in the online library but nothing has replaced it.
the org is really going backwards when they ditch old light and cannot come up with anything new.
