if the truth be known, that stadium was probably a casualty of the february 2011 earthquake?.

In effect the GB says the new testament was only written for the 144k - right?
by Comatose inbecause if you just read it then its plain that all should partake of the emblems and go to heaven etc.
they get around that by saying it only applied to those when written who all anointed and then a small group today.
so they take away the bible for the average witness.

It is my hope that the new NWT being more readable will open the eyes of a lot of the Witnesses. If a person simply reads the letters of Paul it becomes self-evident that the WT doctrines of two classes is wrong. For them to have the doctrine that the NT applies mostly to a small special anointed class, and that the vast majority of Christians cannot read it as a message to them, is a travesty. It robs the NT of its meaning and makes a joke of Christianity.

Bible Has Problems, Yet Its One Verse Can Solve All Our Problems!
by abiather inscience shows that humans have been living on earth more than 6000 years (contrary to ot chronology).
again inconsistency is pointed out in nt too which says jesus who did countless good worksincluding control over forces of nature and even death itselfyet people killed him, just like killing the duck that lays golden egg!.
despite such inconsistencies, a single verse in the bible can solve all our problems: don't call anyone on earth 'father,' because you have only one father, the one in heaven.

HOUSING: No one should own more than one house. Present occupants of each house are declared to be the owners of the respective houses. Whoever stays in a rented house will, henceforth, pay the rent to the Government.
Curiously similar to the Single Tax movement in the US in the 1890's, proposed by Henry George:

Why remove John 8:1-11 in the NWT if these verses speak highly of Jesus
by I_love_Jeff ini understand these verses were removed in the nwt as well as some other bibles because they were added later & considered uninspired.
jesus protected an adultress so why remove it?
it fits in nicely with his teachings, does it not?

I have a copy of 'Eight Translation New Testament' which contains at the end a section called 'Guide to the Ancient Manuscripts', by Philip W. Comfort. This is my go-to guide to understanding the different NT readings, and why certain verses are omitted. The verses in John 7:53 - 8:11 are given about half a page of explanation. Basically it says the story of the adulterous woman is an addition in the text from an oral tradition. None of the oldest NT manuscripts contain the verses, and it is believed to be an oral tradition that eventually found its way into the Latin Vulgate, and later into the Textus Receptus. Nearly all modern translations will have a footnote about the verses, if not omit them entirely.

Oh for Pete's sake, not this again. I used to have a high school chum in the 70's who believed all the pseudo science of the time... von Daniken, Bermuda triangle, Atlantis theories, the works. Because of him I read most of the books, and this story of underwater pyramids and structures goes back to that time and genre. There is not a shred of scientific evidence.
Can archaeological works be found under water? Yes of course, and there have been some remarkable finds in recent years. But I say this story is a hoax until some scientific evidence is produced.

Is this CA experience mind control or worship of man?
by hoser inthis goes back some time several years perhaps even 10 or so.. .
i was at the circuit assembly and during the announcements the chairman said you may sit if you wish this will take some time to read this.
i forget what it was about but everyone sat down except the district overseer and his wife.. then the people sitting close by the do started to get up to stand again and there was this group of about 100 who were standing around the do.

There is little doubt that the circuit overseers and district overseers get a power trip out of their position, but speaking for myself, I would have probably stood as well. Setting for so long listening to those boring talks, if you get a chance to stand for a while, take it. I've been known to leave the place and go out to the local McDonald's for a coffee. The assemblies are such a joke and waste of a good day.

Watchtower schools--why the consolidation?
by wannaexit infirst there was the ministerial training school ( mts), then changed to the school for single brothers.
most recently the school for christian couples (replacing gilead).
all of a sudden news comes out the all these schools are consolidated under one umbrella: the evangelizing school --open to single brothers, single sisters, married couples all the way up to 65 years of age.. i wonder as to the motive behind all these changes this year..

Just an observation, the Gilead School DID occasionally admit single sisters as well as single brothers, though the vast majority were couples. I knew one sister who went to Gilead in the 70's and was assigned to a country in S America. Turns out she married a local brother and left the missionary work in just a few years, but stayed there in that country.

In the old days (70's and 80's) there were many applicants for Gilead and special pioneer service. Many of the people I knew personally were really top notch. They would come in with a lot of enthusiasm and were a boon to the congregation. Now they seem to be scraping the bottom of the barrel. Example: In a congregation near where I live (midwest rural US) an MTS grad in his mid 20's was brought in a few months ago. Here are some of the things I have heard about him.
He turned down an offer from one of the brothers for free rent.
His mother came with him to pick out an apartment, which she pays for.
He has supposedly a degree in mechanical engineering, but he has never worked in the field.
He seldom participates in the ministry with the congregation, but does most of his ministry writing letters from his apartment.
He has a live-in cousin for companionship, but doesn't associate much with the congregation.
After 3-4 months he still does not have a job, and insists that he wants a 9-5 weekday job.
He says he can pioneer with a fulltime job because he has done it before, but he is still not working anywhere. I guess his mom supports him.
He gives talks in the meetings, and that is about it. The congregation members have been saying 'He isn't helping much'.
Since I haven't met him personally maybe I have it wrong, but one thing is certain; he doesn't have the respect of the congregation members.
What kind of applicants are they getting for MTS? Go figure.
