" We as a planetary race are not ready for introduction into the larger picture yet. As a prime example of this, look at Christianity. How many Christians do you know that are willing to consider the possibility that Jesus Christ visited inhabited worlds other than this Earth? "
Interesting concept SanFran Jim.
But it's true.
How many could contamplate that there might be more to the story than what we think we know?

Hi kgrrl.
Welcome to the forum.
"Her father quickly began to emotionally abuse me and the sexual abuse started about three months later. His outward advances happened for a year and a half until I had enough courage to speak up. In the end, four other girls in the congergation came forward expressing he emotionally abused them. He was publicly reproved and lost his priviledges for five months!"
So you were given the boot for smoking but this animal was only publicly reproved and lost his priviledges for five months?
Once again the WTS shows how unChristian and uncaring they really are.
Did you report this to the police?
I'm sorry for the pain and suffering you endured because of the brutal and cruel policies of this book publishing company that is masquerading as a religion.

My Church is a Cult!
by diotrephes inthe founder of the church did just that.
1 corinthians 1:10 now i beseech you, brethren, by the name of our lord jesus christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
where is the wise?

Diotrephes,
Are you using these scriptures to prove that religions have the right to be high control groups?
Are you including all religions here or do you have one in particular that you're thinking of?
It wouldn't be a religion that puts unecesary presure on its followers to be out selling, distributing and placing magazines and books would it?
Ok. So you use those scriptures to show that religion is supposed to be a high controling thing.
But you left out the scriptures that state to make sure of all things.
You left out the scripture that commended a certain group because they were checking to see if what they were being taught was true.
You left out the scriptures that say that God hates a lie.
And you also left out who God calls the father of a lie.
You left out the scriptures that say what to do when dealing with a false prophet.
You left out the scriptures where Jesus says how His followers would be.
I could go on and on. What you're doing is trying to show why it's ok for the WTS to be how they are.
Don't forget ALL the scriptures that say what groups like the WTS is.
The WTS does not stand up to the standards set forth in the scriptures as a religion that would be acceptable to God.

More on Witnesses and charitable works (not)
by JeffT inmy wife went to a meeting at our church today to plan a missionary trip to kenya for next march.
the people she met with are part of a group that has built a school, an orphanage, and an aids clinic.
she has decided that her preschool is going to help get supplies for the kids, not a hard task, they have nothing.. this sparked an ugly memory (inretrospect).

People, people,people.
The WTS IS ONLY a book publishing company that uses God as bait to entrap its victoms and keep them.
They are NOT concerned with having and showing the fruits of the spirit.
That will not sell books and magazines.
All a person has to do to see what the WTBTS is all about is go to the meetings and listen to what they mainly focus on.
Is it to go out and follow Jesus's teachings on showing love to their fellow man?
Nope.
Is it going out and helping the fatherless child? How about maybe feading the hungry?
Helping the invalid? Reaching out to the downtrodden? Helping people in any way shape or form?
Uh.....NO!
Their main focus is NOT on the Way Jesus said would be the way His followers would be but on preaching. Do more, MORE, MORE!!!!!!!!!
In the preaching work.
Ok so they will say that preaching IS what Jesus said His followers should be doing.
Did he say that they should be preaching what they are?
I don't believe He said anywhere in the scriptures that His followers should be preaching that the ONLY way to survive Armagedon is to belong to the WTS.
I don't believe it can be found anywhere in the scriptures that the ONLY way to God is thru the WTS.
That IS what is and has been the main focus of the WTS.
Its no wonder the WT followers don't get out and help their fellow man.
Acording to the WTS, that won't score points with God.
ONLY selling, placing and distributing WTS books, mags and pamplets will get you in with God.
Never mind doing what Jesus said His followers would be doing!!!!!!!

I know it's been said before but,the WTS acts just like 'The Party' in the book 1984 by George Norwell.
They change their own history (teachings) and insist to their followers that they never taught such things.
They get rid of anyone and everyone that does not agree completely that they(WTS) are above questioning.
They enforce their version of truth on their followers and if the followers don't swallow it hook line and sinker then they are branded as evil, wicked people that must be destroyed.
For those that haven't read 1984, I sugjest reading it and you'll definately see the parellels between 'The Party' and the WTS.
Members in 'The Party' were to betray one another to 'Big Brother' if they were thought to have some thoughts diferent than those allowed by 'The Party'.
Doesn't the WTS have the same kind of control over its followers?
I wonder if members of the fds read that book years ago and decided that the control that 'Big Brother' had over it's followers was the same kind of control that they wanted to instill because it certainly apears to be working.

Was that almost anyone can be conned into thinking that they really have THE TRUTH while the rest of the world lives in ignorance.
I think that's what bothers many.
That they, I, could be conned by a book publishing company pretending to be the mouthpiece that God would use.

Are There Things You Didn't Understand About JW's Until AFTER Baptism?
by minimus inone of the things the society prides itself over is that jw's are not only preachers but also teachers.
jw's are told that they have the "best education in the world".
jw's are taught for a number of months before they are allowed to get baptized.

"But she feels my wife should no better since she left the Catholic Church and made her choice later on in life."
That's the problem minimus.
Those that got baptised without growing up in it had NO WAY of finding out the real truth behind the WTS until now.
We were not told.
The WTS frouned upon any that would seek to find out its history.
The JWs at the door were always too happy to have someone question their own religion but when the WTS gets questioned, WATCH OUT!!!
Jst2laws, you're right about this being important.
Anyone that is checking out the WTS should know about these things.
If we did, would we have gotten involved with them?
I for one would definitely have said NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
