i read on another thread how this site has helped another user and that for them it has been a form of therapy.. for me yes, jwn has most certainly been a form of therapy.. i recall the days i first came to jwn (in 2004) and couldn't believe i had found people who were of the same opinion as myself in regards to the society.
it was this site that led me to reading ray franz's book 'crisis of conscience' which i read twice within a week.
it also led me to jw facts that goes into every nook and cranny regarding the society's teachings, policies and history.. note: i also visit many other sites and watch you tube videos a lot, but gravitate here most of the time.. coming here to express my inner most thoughts and feelings has helped me no end and allows me to overcome my frustrations.
Signing on to the JWN site is a part of my life and has been for 12+ years. It is rare that a day passes that I don't sign on. While I don't post in each of my visits, I keep up with the major discussions.
Thank you to all who participate. You are all a lifesaver.

given that i turn 60 today means that i graduated high school in 1975. time flies when you are having fun.. i remember the council i got about not worrying about a career because this wicked system was rapidly coming to a conclusion.
now i am 60 and most of those bastards are dead and the end is still in the future..

One random thought that I had related to growing up a JW and birthdays. While I never had a birthday cake, my mother always baked what she called a "snowman cake" for my brother, sister, and me on our birthdays. Even as a good JW, she knew how to break the rules. God bless her.

Exactly Snowbird. While I was a "true believer" in all JW matters, with a very guilty conscious I got an education and a career. That act of disobedience was the best decision ever.

it appears that the governing body members today are part of the great crowd and are not of the anointed.. to those with some knowledge of the subject, is it possible that the christian congregation would eventually be lead by those who are not anointed?

There will always be highly motivated assholes who decided to "partake." This is clearly a strategy that will propel their career in Watchtower-land. That being said, The Wt has painted themselves into a corner with the overlapping generation. They need brothers who started partaking before Franz died.
Of course, is all they need to do is "clarify our understanding."

so , why do we have to endure all of the heart-breaking torment that goes along with life?
everybody sins, everybody dies. Sounds pretty simple to me.
We only get one life, try to keep your sins to a minimum and appreciate the gift of life until you meet the great equalizer - death.
as far as i know, i did a search, and you may not know this but, the last song play during a music video of the regional convention, was not of watchtower.
it's stolen from a group called audiomachine off their album epica.
the song is called eternal flame and it is exactly and i mean, note for note the same as the music video.
There is no question that this is the same song. The best guess is the Wt paid a royalty to a worldly band. It probably was not a major expense.
The real issue is the message coming from the bunker videos, which is highly cultish.
