  Special Pioneers drive through flooded creek...destroy ton of literature in boot!

  two sisters decided to drive thru a flood creek during a storm so they would not miss a new kingdom hall dedication.

  when the water reached over the hood the abandoned the car and swam to saftey.

  a ton of watchtower literature the had in the boot for the isolated hall was destroyed.

  i don't really engage in doctrinal discussions about jw's anymore.

  they seem to say some pretty crazy stuff.

  but i have read some threads discussing doctrinal changes and how watchtower is really out of ideas and money at the same time.

  Towards the end of the time when the overlap generation is near death, they simply say that the GT has started. That will give them an "indeterminable" amount of time. They can then sort it out when that generation all dies out. Then they can have new light and start the game all over again.

  ...is an epic triumph is emotional manipulation.

  bringing together all of the stories they told thus far and placing them int he "new world" complete with the little boy who was killed in a car accident coming back from the dead.. i have a good friend who is stuck in with family and plays the role.

  he said everyone was crying, and the people next to him rated the videos by how many tissues they needed to dry their eyes.

  I cannot believe that they stole a song of a wicked - soon to be destroyed - musician and used it as a post Armageddon theme song.

  as i am watching this video about changes at bethel, the speaker said, "aren't we glad the faithful and discrete slave continues to make adjustments when necessary.

  what about this change?

  "finally, we examined why jesus’ arrival to appoint the faithful slave over all his belongings did not occur in 1919 but will take place during the great tribulation" that is from this online watchtower article last paragraph: https://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/w20130715/jesus-prophecy-last-days/ .

  Witness Carts - A Vehicle for Significant Decline

  i was stalking to a jw today about her recent experience on the carts and with being a jw generally.

  until this conversation i considered the carts as just an ineffective preaching method and a harmless waste of time.

  but now i wonder if the effect of the carts might be to produce noticeable decline in jw numbers.

  Perhaps the carts are another means of weeding out all but the highly committed. I noticed that the videos from the regional conventions have little wiggle room. They want followers to all be in the category of super dubs. F*&k the rest of the followers.

  Every follower is a potential liability. So shrinking the ranks is a good thing.

  Old Relative Not Happy About Push To Use Ipads Etc

  i was in a close relatives house yesterday and she was having angry and resentful at the push to use electronic devices at the meetings.

  she was talking to another relative of mine who has just got an ipad to use.

  this relative of mine is very elderly and obviously prefers to use her bible and other books.

  Question about baptism around 1973- can anyone answer for me?

  i am hoping someone will take a look at this and be able to help me with my question.. i was baptized in 1973, you know, because i was a teenager and old enough to stand on my own when armageddon descended in 1975. .

  perhaps elders, or any former elders especially, but anyone who was around then could help me with this question, because i honestly don't recall, and really need to know.. what were the baptismal questions the candidates responded to back then?

  were we still asked if we repented of our sins, turned around, and were being baptized in the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit?.

  I was also baptized in 1973 - in Muncie Indiana. I don't remember what I agreed to.

  JWs standing on mats whilst Cart Witnessing

  i've come across a guy on youtube that has been approaching numerous jws in public cart witnessing.

  actually, calling it witnessing is beyond a joke because most of the time they are just standing there and in the case of this youtuber, they walk away in silence or turn their heads.the youtuber is not a jw and i don't think he ever was, he calls himself a christian and i don't think he is affiliated with any particular religion.there is one video where he shows about 4 jws standing on a square plate with a yellow marking on the edge, they each have their own plate.

  i am curious as to why they are standing on these?

  I was in the subway in NY yesterday and noticed that the cart people have chairs and were sitting. I guess there is no rule that the need to stand.

  There must be a lot of intensive fear rumbling through Bethel. I wonder is the Bethelites already know their fate; Can you imaging listening to this talk and not knowing if you are on the short list to go! Talk about stress.

  What do they mean when they say "older?" Are they talking about kicking out those in their 50s and 60s? How about those in their 70s and beyond? Either way it is very sad.
