  Also, this letter looks like another example of the walls crumbling down. There must be something very big going on. And, having these letters leaked like this could only happen with very disgruntled people in positions of power.

  Does this apply to missionaries? Are missionaries also considered special pioneers? If the Watchtower sent you to a special assignment do they have any responsibility to bring you home?

  i'll try to keep this short.

  my experience at the hall is elders not really engaging in friendship building communication with anyone.

  the only time they really communicate with you is to counsel you or tell you where you need to make adjustments.

  I was an elder for several years. What struck me was their feeling of self importance. In any gathering you will always see two elders in the "stance;" Hovering over each other in a quite conversation - but with the look of self importance - "look at us we are soooo important." The analogy I have is when cell phones were just starting - the person with the cellphone made sure everyone knew that he (they were always men) was so important that the conversation couldn't wait to get to a pay phone.

  When I saw two elders hovering over each other in self-important talk I made sure I moved to the other side of the hall.

  How will many JW's react ?

  i did not believe i would see the demise of the wt in my lifetime, and maybe i will not, they may be able to ride out their present problems.. but how do you think this will affect the average, loyal, believing jw ?.

  usually most things just wash over them, if there is a slight niggle, they use their well-worn way of explaining things to themselves as in "the end is near" or "jehovah knows best" etc etc.

  but the huge sea-change in corporate policy that we see unfolding, all construction work stopped, except warwick and maybe their biggest project, chelmsford u.k. huge bethel layoffs, and the lifestyle of the remaining staff reduced to virtual slavery, more bethel closures, spiritual food reduced for the public as well as the r&f, and all of this being the opposite of what they have claimed was evidence of jehovah's blessing ???.

  There are enough rumors to suggest something is taking place. It probably won't be as significant or clear cut as some have speculated. But it will be interesting.

  first off, i'd like to state that i currently have "privileges" in the congregation and volunteer at bethel on and off throughout the year.

  that's as much information as i will currently give about myself.. starting off, i think something big is coming in the form of lawsuits and bad pr.

  they seem to be batting down the hatches in preparation for something the last few years and even more so the last few months.

  Very interesting comments. I doubt that they have been conducting any speculative investments in oil or gold. They hire the very best of financial consultants - To actually think that they gambled away assets is beyond reasonable. I would have to see support for this claim. In any event, you have a great insider's perspective.

  i haven't posted for quite awhile, just usually lurk, but thought surely someone would have noticed this on jw.org.

  this was under the article about distractions.

  i clicked on the article and below is the "accurate" prediction that the wt made back in 1958. this has to prove they have jehovah's backing, don't you think?

  I don't see a prediction in this quote, I only see an observation of what was taking place. Observing the "current" state of affairs takes no effort. It can certainly be done without celestial guidance.

  Reasons for leak and building stop story

  i have some feeling about the am2015 leak and the recent building stop story going arround.. it wouldn't surprise me that the information is a calculated leak.. - jw's are informal informed about the changes and adopt them informal.. - the building stop influences the concience of jw's for donating more money.. at the other hand, maybe there has occured a financial disaster for example they invested bilions in volkswagen.. gorby.

  Since this is all speculation here is what I suspect (based upon my audit experience as a CPA).

  Perhaps they had a external reviewer set a price tag on a contingent liability for pending lawsuit payments (a contingent liability is one where it is probable that you have to pay and the amount is reasonably estimable).

  I suspect they were given an amount that they need to hold as a reserve that was so high that they had no cash left over to do anything else - including maintain operations.

  Pure speculation - but this is how these things work in the real world.

  What makes WT think they can reassign Bethel volunteers to be Regular Pioneers.

  when the gb cuts loose 1600 volunteers, what makes them think they can continue telling them how they will spend their time?

  i've read on many of these threads that the 1600 will be reassigned.

  what, are they still under some sort of contract?.

  turning these bethelites into pioneers is just part of the spin. The posts suggest that the spin is working. The reality is the GB couldn't care less what these people do.

  Large Increase in Trolley Witnessing

  when the org implements its bethelite "genocide" and demotes many members of the "worldwide order of special full-time servants of jehovahs witnesses" into lowly regular pioneers, many more trollies will have to be found in order for such ones to rack up their required monthly hours.. how many are actually going to be shocked by this into waking up?

  The Bethelites that are young with just a few years in should be able to bounce back fairly quickly. The biggest burden will be those who have 10, 15 or 20+ years in. They are in for a shock. Life is tough.
