  True believers never save their money

  either god is going to save them or he is not.

  since one local elder proudly told me that he never saved a nickel until just before his retirement, i've given this subject some thought.. savers are worldly..

  Numbers are wonderful - numbers give the illusion of activity (I am a CPA and love numbers, so I mean no sarcasm, but I understand the limitation of numbers).

  The fact that we understand the value of numbers is what separates us from lesser forms of life. You don't see dogs or monkeys counting the times they poop.

  I saw the picture and a few of the posts. Where on earth did this picture come from? I do not remember this from any of my JW memories. Is this new, what is the context? I am confused, and slightly disturbed.

  In regards to porn: Some have given in to this temptation by allowing their minds to dwell on what is bad. But we can resist, even as thousands of our brothers have done.

  That is an odd statement. Given that there are millions of brothers, is the article suggesting that the ones that resist only reach into the thousands?

  In regards to not blaming Satan, I agree. But the same could be said for any other temptation. As the saying goes - we are our own worst enemy.

  A Judicial experience.

  when i was an elder in the 80s, a 16 year old baptized jw girl had confessed that at school during lunch a boy kissed her and touched her privates over her dress.

  the circuit overseer was in town and we told him of the situation and he called the society and then told us that mother said we were not allowed to conduct the funeral in the kingdom hall or anywhere else with the threat of removing us and being dealt with judicially if we disobeyed.

  the mother who is about 79 years old comes once a year to talk to my mom about the situation.

  I don't think they can shield assets this way.

  Probably not, but it makes the process of collecting more complicated. Sometimes slowing the bleed is the only strategy available.

  this has been set up as a not-for-profit. There are no IRS Form 990s on Guidestar. Perhaps because it is too new. But this will be one to watch.

  This is a simple means of shielding assets from future litigation. Soon when someone decides to sue the Watchtower or Jehovah's Witnesses they will find no assets to collect even if they win. The goodies of money and property are being dispersed through many separate legal organizations.

  at our recent rc i was advised by a sister who was an attendant that they have been advised not to be able to give brothers directions as this should be dealt with by the brothers.

  apparently at the pre-convention attendants meeting, the sisters were asked to stay behind.

  this was when they were given the news that the brothers should deal with brothers.

  No, thank you very much, they are marvelous pointers, I agree. But my problem is that I would focus on the pointers and not where they are pointing.

  I think it is obvious why sisters cant give direction - they do not have a penis to point with. How can you give directions without a pointer???
