VI, good post. Of course they weren't correct on guessing WW1. The connection of the war to the date only occurred much later. What we have related to the date and the organization is - good marketing. They were masters of the spin.

by Separation of Powers ini don't typically hear from my mom often, but i tell you, over the past couple of weeks, i have heard from her several times.
you heard the comment about "our way of worship will be altered" and thank you for your posts by the way....but yesterday, she calls and is asking about the kids and then, in typical jw fashion mind you, says:.
"you know, you should really get back to meetings.

Wait a minute. In 15 years I will be over 70. I was not supposed to finish high school before the end comes. I never heard anyone project more than 3-5 years. This 15 year thing is hard to digest. They must not have much confidence in their own prophesies. -

Rebranding does not happen by accident. The skill in the rebranding that I see could only happen with a highly skilled consulting group. The society paid big bucks - based upon what I see they got their money's worth. -

The speeding up of the work clearly identifies the fact that we are very near the end of this old wicked world. All of this is pretty exciting. Who knew that of all of humanity we would be blessed with being the chosen generation (and in generation, I don't mean the overlapping generation) to experience gods wondrous wrath and love all wrapped up in a tight little ball. Thanks for posting. I have been to more than a few offices in my life, this is an office. It is void of anything spiritual. May be this is good because this emphasizes to the R&F that when you go to the meetings working are working (free of charge - but it is still work) for the governing body. I wonder if they will have a time card so publishers can clock in and out? -

Did you skip the meeting to watch the superbowl ?

born and raised in boston, i am a huge sports fan, and of course patriots fan.
so anyone here go to another meeting, makeup some bs excuse, illness, flat out miss the meeting or anything else to watch game if your meeting happened to go from the 9am to the 3pm in january ?.

I was never a big football fan and even when we had Sunday evening meetings, it was not a big deal.
My only superbowl/watchtower conflict was when the PO wanted to do sheparding calls on Superbowl night. I had to leave a superbowl party attend this part of my service.
