im kinda mad, its hard to shake off the look of that little girls face...standing in someones basement, scared.. why the hiding?

Oh the emotions that this generates. I can't imagine the discussions that my family members engaged in based upon this picture. This picture encapsulates everything that the Watchtower promotes as their end-time scenario. I am out for many years and see the religion as all crap; and yet I still have a few emotional chords ringing.
My hat goes off to the person or people involved in this picture. You get an "A+."
But then again, it is all fiction... but I still give an "A+"

I am generally a happy person. But, I have no desire to express this happiness in dance. Nor do I need to express my general happiness through a YouTube video. My happiness is very personal. What others think is of no concern to me.
One wonders why they are so intent on showing others that they are happy. What is the point. I know I would not be happy swinging a toilet brush through the air. I find that a bit disturbing.

why believe poetic promised land prophecy is to be taken literally, but scriptures saying the earth will end must be taken figuratively?
Why is a paradise earth used? Because it works! - it is the perfect carrot and stick game ever.
I have heard a variation of this conversation:
"Remember, if you don't work harder you won't be in the paradise and see your gran-mamma. What are we going to tell her when she is resurrected and asks for her favorite grandson..."
as an elder, i used to find a legitimate reason to wander.
Current JWs have it so easy. They have their iPads with them and can check email, surf the internet, and play candy crush while appearing to be doing serious research.
I can't wait for the special needs talk about that.

i have a friend who is an eldub and he just completed elder's school!
what did he learn?
as far as i can tell, he learned:.
Your friend is going to explode with the cognitive dissonance flowing through is veins.
On one side he feels that he is of a privileged class to be a part of such a momentous event. However, the event causes such pain because no matter how much he does - he is not doing enough.
I have been to enough of these special elder meetings to know that they are long and oh so boring.

Most of the Watchtower construction over the past 30 or so years focused on easy conversion to other uses, usually high end apartments. So, I am sure they are doing the same thing with the new wave of kingdom halls. Make they easy to convert to other uses - primarily commercial or professional space (i.e. doctor offices).
They have title to the property so there is no reason to use the GT scare to flip these properties. They can use an lame excuse they want. They don't even have to give a reason, because they own the property.
