i just got off the phone with carla.

carla and paula's mother has just passed away.

carla said that paula had been checking her post on and off all through the night and that it gave her much comfort in knowing that so many replied and showed that they cared.

Christmas Traditions from "DownUnder"

i'm intersested in learning how all the folks from "down under" portray christmas being that it is a summer holiday there.

you can't have a christmas card displaying "frosty the snowman", a nice winter counry scene with snow falling, santa in a snow sled, or snow covered trees with snow falling.

i'd be interested in having some links posted that contain pics as well as some of the traditional ways that christmas has been celebrated in the past from all of those "down under".. ps - please post links, do not use the 'inframe feature' my browser can't see the inframes.

NEW TO YOU ALL...MY STORY

i was born into the witnesses in 1962, i was disfellowshiped when i was 18, because i decided to marry a catholic.

our first son was born 4 years later, and thinking i had to teach our son about god, which in it self is not a bad thought, so the only thing i new was the jw's teaching's, and yes i went back.. it took them 11 months to decide weather they would reinstate me, 11 month's of no one talking to me, no one coming to see my new baby, allways leaving befor the meeting was completely over, so as not to feel any more hurt then nessecary.

after i was reinstated i proceeded to raise our 3 children as jw's.

Our Mother is in a coma :(

karla and i came home for a quick shower and a change of clothes.

we ask that you keep our mother and our family in your prayers.

we posted a few weeks ago that our mother had been diagnosed with pancreas cancer and was given 6-18 months with chemo.

Paula and Karla,

I'm so sorry to read this news. I, too, have an aging Mother whom I love very much. The thought of losing her is almost more than I can bear. I really don't know what to write, as words just can't express the feelings we have at times like this.

hello all, i am an exjw just trying to figure out whether this is a projw site or not.

i grew up in the cincinnati, oh area, father was (and still is) an elder.

brother died at age 20 because a blood transfusion was refused for him by the elders and he left a wife and little girl behind.

yes your old pal bendrr has gone and done it this time!

i've committed myself to hosting christmas day at my place and that includes cooking a christmas dinner for at least 11 people.. i already planned on my "adopted" family coming over which would be no big deal, just snacks and a few beers.

but this year i spent thanksgiving with my older brother and his family.
