not to judge our witness friends or relatives at all, but:.
isn't it refreshing that now we are free to have friends that do not judge us regarding what we believe, what we do, etc.
all the things that as witnesses we could not do, now we can, and our friends are not going to "turn us in" for not following the wts rules.
Yes it is freedom96! It is also nice to be that type of friend to others. Tolerence and respect of others beliefs even if they differ from our own. I did not trust anyone to be more then an aquaintance for years because of the conditional love that was taught.

I am attending my Grandmother's funeral this coming weekend. She was Catholic. There is a possibility of one of my brother's being there who is a jw elder. One of my family members has mentioned that they may want me to read something there at the funneral. My response is that I would be honored to do that in memory of my grandmother. I don't know, it may even be religious and it may cause my being df'd, I have already walked away years ago so that doesn't bother me. My mother and brother don't really have anything to do with me anyways. My brother usually makes an excuse of being busy and having to leave if I am around, and I guess with his elder responsibilities I am sure he is busy, however it lets me know that I am very low on his list even if I am family.
My point is - I will not allow my jw family members keep me from events of other family members. Those who shun me, well that is their problem.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. The silent rams do need to be remembered too. Sometimes it seem so much easier to put in the back of our minds, but it still pushes forward and resurfaces no matter what.
It is a pattern that isn't broken unless it is dealt with. My ex hubby's father was abused as a child, and he in turn abused his children and grandchildren. His excuse was because that was what happened to him. The shame of the situation caused my ex to hide this from me ( I learned about it when I was pregnant with my daughter from another family member). I was angry because I felt their feelings for him wanting to keep it a secret meant that it left a possibility that my daughter could have entered that pattern until it was found out.
Dakota, thank you again. You are one of my favorite posters. You are so very supportive. You have dealt with the many cruelties that you have crossed in life and for that you are a great person who has passed that stregnth on. You Rock!!!

poor tink had to be rushed to the hospital early this morning 2:00am.
she went to bed fine but after several hours of pain and discomfort it got so bad she woke me up.
she had severe chest pain and pain in the center of her shoulder blades.
Tink, glad you are home and doing ok. If the pain continues go for a second opinion, just to make sure.? I am speaking from the experience of a friend's husband, he is ok because they followed their insticnts on what they felt didn't seem right.

princess and i are sitting on the bed, drinking scotch, and the children are sleeping.........they need it..............and so do we.. after two days, we agree, we should have left the kids at home.

today was difficult, but we have high hopes for tomorrow.. princess, her two children, and i, were ready to get on the log, for splash mountain, and the little girl refused to do it..........screaming.
