by Undecided inthis is my favorite place to read and contemplate the world and it's meaning.
i read c of c and in search of christian freedom sitting here.
i also like to listen to the birds as they sing and build nest around in my back yard.. my little 5 month old grand daughter loves it out here also.. i think everyone needs a place to relax and think.

Conventions
by podsy1 init has been more than twenty years since i last attended a district assembly.
i have heard that the society no longer has the assemblies at statiums where the crownds would number into the thousands.
instead, they are now held at different assembly halls that the society owns.

Not where I live. The Tacoma Dome holds about 15,000 and there will be four this year. But, they are not anywhere near that many in attendance. They take out some of the bleachers, and it will hold maybe 10,000 at the most. I think last year, the peak attendance was around 9,000.

Contradiction?????
by Yerusalyim inon page 132 of the knowledge book it says: who are the "superior authorities"?
paaul's words in succeeding verses show that they are human governmental authorities.
(romans 13:1-7; titus 3:1) jehovah did not originateman's governmental authorities, but they exist by his permission.

Wow! It sure doesn't seem like a year already. But, in other ways, it seems much longer, from my perspective. I just can't imagine that I haven't always known you guys. Tell 'Dad' we are thinking of him today.
Sharon is better today.......may go home tomorrow, but not sure. Still no prognosis. We haven't been able to talk to a doctor. I should have put this in an email, eh? Oh well.

Here is an interesting experience, right along those lines. My mother, now 89 years old, gave birth in 1932, to a stillborn baby, her first child. She was not a dub, until 1950. She has never forgotten that baby, and never ever believed he would not be resurrected to her. My brother and I are now 55 and 61, but Mom still mourns her firstborn, who was full term and perfect, until just before his birth. She is so stubborn on the WTS doctrines, and so loyal, but that is one belief she can't accept, and was right there to comfort anyone who had the experience, of losing a baby, by saying "your baby is in Jehovah's hands. There is so much we don't know." That is a more reasonable viewpoint, and it stuck with me my whole life.

for those who "grew up in the borg"
by zev inat this late, middle stage of my life, i've started wondering, now that i know what i know, about the things in my life that i "lived" with.
having been raised all my life in the "borg" i have known nothing else.
when questions began forming years ago, it started me thinking.

by TR ini'm sure this has been brought up before, but it gives me the willies(brrrrrr!
) to say the...jw words.
since i don't believe they are god's witnesses, then i can't say the words.

This reminds me of a friend of ours who spent most of his adult life at Bethel........which means "House of God". He refuses to say the word 'Bethel' now, in reference to that place in Brooklyn. He now calls it "the former place of residence" because he says "in no way is that place, the House of God."
