ok, so i thought it was good but not quite as good as the other episodes.
last night seemed a little slow like a filler episode or something.

How about when the bishop called Barb "sister Henricksen" and then expressed concern because she is "inactive" in the church.
I hope when they said there were only 4 episodes left, they didn't mean for the series. The way things are going, it could be winding down to a series finale though.

Mine is John Lennon's "Imagine". I like having a distinctive ringtone. When someone else's phone rings, I know it's not mine.

lol.. seriously, my new doubts have made it harder and harder to go in service.
a few months ago, when a new month rolled around, i realized that i hadn't actually gone in service at all the previous month.
every single one for the last two years we were going to meetings.................just to keep the elders off my back. Meeting attendance was very low, so I thought I'd better at least turn in my time. All fake.

It's not the way the WTS presented god that made me lose all belief in one - it's the way the Bible presents god! If his own book makes god look like a abusive, dysfunctional madman, well, you don't have much to work with!
Oh yes, there was that one other factor - the complete lack of evidence for his existence. I should think that if there was one thing an all-powerful god could do, it would be to prove he's around. I can do it, why can't he?
Ditto! The longer I am away from religion, the bible and the belief in god, the more it makes absolutely no sense to my very logical mind.

yesterday i called a family on the west coast that were in my congregation 18 years ago.
between parents, kids and marriage partners, there were six of them who had been witnesses.
they have all faded, and have had nothing to do with the witnesses for at least 15 year or more.. yet, none of them is in any way active even in looking at the ex-jw sites online.
maybe it depends on how many years you were involved in it, like: from birth? all of your adult life? or just a few years?
Are your entire family, or most of it, still JW's?
Did you have any social life outside of the JW's while you were one?
How involved were you............really? Were you an elder, MS, pioneer, etc.
Are you disfellowshipped or just faded away? Were you hurt by them, other than being lied to about it all?
My husband is so much past it all. His parents are dead, his brother died too young, but was an ex JW, and the other brother won't speak to us. The rest of our family are all out, except for my mother, who doesn't shun us or give us a bad time about not being there anymore.
We have lots of friends and a busy family life, so it's easy to just forget it all.
All those things factor in.

I'm so thankful to hear that Tammy is finally out of her misery. I saw her interview on Larry King last night? Even in the last few weeks she deteriorated so much. It's such a horrible disease.
Me too. Her voice wasn't her voice, and I wondered how she had the strength to do that interview. She died the next day.
She seemed to me, to be very sincere and sweet. No one should have to suffer that horrible disease. Anyone who has watched a loved one succumb to cancer, should only feel good that she is finally at peace.

i was raised from birth as my family was in it 7 years before i was born ( 1952).
i remember wanting to go out for school sports in high school as my p.e.
I was raised from the age of 4 to be a JW. It was 1950 until I got married in 1962 at the age of 17.
During the 50's things were very different in the organization. I participated in school activities. I had friends in other congregations that were school officers, cheerleaders, sports stars, etc. Most of them are all still JW's too, so where is the harm?
I honestly didn't feel deprived in any way. I could do pretty much whatever I wanted to do at school. We had a large extended family and everyone was a JW. We had family gatherings all the time.
I didn't go to college by my own choice. My father was a doctor and really wanted me to get an education. I wanted to get married and have babies. I have no regrets.
For my kids, it was much different. Everything, almost was a "no........you can't". Lots of missed opportunities. I have many regrets for their lives.
