No school again today

I just got home from running some errands, and it's thrilling out there on the roads. It is 25 degrees, and the roads are all icy. Some are clear and dry, but lots of them look wet but are really solid ice. Had to drive nice and slow. Everyone else was also driving slow. No one wants a fender bender.
I took the car to the Toyota dealership for a once over, after our dive into the ditch on Sunday. All is well structurally, but I scheduled the work to repair the cosmetic damage. New bumper to the tune of $700. At least the undercarriage is undamaged.
Unfortunately they are predicting more snow for us tomorrow.

What is the "new" public reproof annoucement for repentant sinners?
by booker-t ini have been out for so long now (da'ed in 1993) and i heard that jw's now have a "new" annoucement for disfellowshipping people.
no longer one of jw's.
but what about jw's that "repent" and want to stay as jw's what do the jw's elders say about them.

I remember non baptized JW's kids being put on public reproof for sins.
That expression drives me nuts! People were not PUT ON PUBLIC REPROOF. They were publicly reproved.
I am sure that phrase is a holdover from when they were put on probation, and they changed the term to being publicly reproved sometime in the late 60's I think. Lots of people said it wrong, but it always grated on my nerves. Our elders heard it too, and corrected the congregation.

Humanity is being conned.
by chaiyah inbe wary.
to summarize, the illuminati are manipulating technology, language, ritualistic activity, subliminal awareness, fear, lust, human vulnerabilities, and conflicts.
these manipulations are external deceptions, which help cover up their trauma-based mind control.

It is COLLLLDDDDD today and the roads are solid ice after the bit of a thaw yesterday. Another big snowstorm hit last evening. It didn't get to us for very long, but Seattle and the cities North of us all got hammered. It must have arched around us.
It's 20 degrees now and may get up to 31 later today. Looks like there won't be another snowstorm, at least for awhile.
The Seahawks game was in Seattle right in the middle of the snowstorm.

CHANGE IN RESURRECTION DOCTRINE?
by Mary inok, this is from the january 1, 2007 craptower.
page 25 is the study article called "the first resurrection---now under way".
it's too boring to type all the stupidity written, but here's a brief synopsis of where they come up with the brainiac idea that the first resurrection occurred in 1918 onwards:.

They really need to stop doing that.
I told my mother one day (she's a JW) that they say things that there is no one that can know them for sure. They are just guessing, and have no special abilities, anymore than she or I do.
She looked really sad, and agreed with me. I think it is just something new to write about, and everyone gets excited about finally a new thought.

fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome
by reneeisorym ini remember when i was in the dubs, there were tons of sisters all with the same set of mild depression and fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue syndrom symptoms.
i wonder if this was related to the hell jws put you through or if it was just something one woman had to have because the other did.
i haven't heard of hardly anyone having it outside of the dubs but in the congregation about 75% of the women had it!

Mulan
I had it, and so did about 30-40 others I knew. I swore I would never get it and thought those women were all raging hypochondriacs. I was so upset when the doctor told me what I had.
My version was caused by a virus, so it was contagious. That might explain why so many got it. My doctor did a blood test to find out why I was so run down, headaches, fevers, sore throats, tired, insomnia, etc. etc. The virus is Epstein-Barr and I had it in an active phase. It's the same virus that causes Mononucleosis, and I had that in high school (3 months) and again when I was in my mid 30's (about a month). So it was dormant in my body.
Evidently it comes and goes depending on your immune system and stress level. My doctor told me to go home, eliminate all the stress from my life, that I could, and I would be well in about two years. I couldn't eliminate much of the stress, since I was married to a busy elder, had 3 teenagers, and a young child, and was a regular pioneer. But I did work on building up my immune system, and I was well in about 3-4 months.

I have a pretty fool proof gingerbread people recipe. You do need to chill the dough for several hours before you roll and cut them out. If you haven't done that before, it may be your problem.
Here's my recipe:
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup molasses
1 egg
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves. In a large mixing bowl beat shortening on medium to high about 30 seconds or until softened.
Add half of the flour to the shotrening. Add the sugar, molasses, egg, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon and cloves.
Beat until thoroughly combined.
Beat or stir in the remaining flour.
Divide the dough in half
Cover the dough and chill at least 4 hours. I allow it to chill overnight, or at least 8 hours. It is much easier to handle if you do.
Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to 1/4 or 1/8 inch thick.
Cut the dough using gingerbread boy or girl cutters. You can also do stars, trees or whatever.
Place on greased cookie sheet an inch or 2 apart.
Bake at 375 degrees for 5 to 6 minutes until the edges are firm. Watch them closely..............burned ginger people are not good.
Take them out of the oven and let set a minute or two before removing hem to cool. I line them up on paper towels or brown wrapping paper.
Decorate as desired. I buy prepackaged frosting and use a pastry bag to decorate.............Actually my grandkids do that part.
If you want to use them as tree ornaments, put a hole large enough for a ribbon, BEFORE baking. -

So when do you put up your tree?
by restrangled ini hope you all had a great thanksgiving..... my husband was so inspired he went up to the attic and dragged down our tree the same day (the 23)... i have been decorating for 2 days serenaded by vince geraldi's charlie brown christmas music.
for some reason it feels extra special this year.
perhaps because after waffling for years with the witnesses i was finally able to let go this summer after finding this site.. so when are you putting up your christmas tree?.

That is so pretty. I like the colors.
When we were at the Mall today, I was buying another building for my Christmas village and a woman was buying a white pre-lit tree and 3 boxes of ornaments, all white, silver and purple. She said they had bought a house that was 50's style and had decided to do a retro tree this year. I told her she needed to find an aluminum tree.
Anyone remember those?
