Who is your JWN BAMF?

i hope this thread goes somewhere, and i hope i put it in an acceptable category:.

the wts has spent around 130 years in underhanded practices and cult control.

we can all name at least two practices banned by the un as inhumane.. because of the control of information they have within their ranks and their often litigious nature outside of the "compound" walls, every bit of information on here is crucial in ensuring no one who visits jwn falls for the gimmicks and traps the society works to employ.. there are personal experiences that are troublesome and touching through the experience of freedom after years of endurement.

Many. First it was those with the facts. Just the facts ma'am. Articles for download, scans of literature, stuff I could verify. I couldn't really tell you any names from when I was searching. I was just looking for facts. But there were many helpful posts.

After I finally accepted and fully woke up, I was and am, most interested in those who went to bethel. I love the bethel stories, both the good and bad stories. I mostly like to hear about the GB members. They were such phatoms to me once upon a time, I love to hear the real stories of these men. Not just the dirt, it's not about that (altho I do admit I can't look away) I just like the bethel stories. It was always one of my biggest regrets was that I missed out on bethel, so it's nice to hear I didn't miss anything.

I still am partial to the informational posters, altho I am able to laugh at the jokes now as well.

this fading business is hard!

there really is no come and go freely in this aweful religion (prison) as i'm finding out more and more.

i missed a couple of meetings and now i was asked a couple of days ago if i was a available for a sheparding calltm in a few weeks; i told them i'd get back to them.

Known Pedophile takes young boy to bathroom at circuit assembly....WTF?

my mil's circuit assembly was this past weekend.

she came over for dinner to our home after the assembly.

in conversation, it came up that a known pedophile was seen walking to the bathroom holding a young boy's hand-no relation to the boy at all, although that wouldn't make a difference!

i'm usually clothed, fed, and out the door to work before my roommate even comes out of her room in the morning.

she informed me after work yesterday that she opened the cereal cabinet and found the milk carton sitting there.. .

Milk in the cupboard *raises hand*.....Car keys in the freezer *raises her hand*....Got in the wrong car and wonder why the key doesn't start the car *raises her hand*. yeah I have been known to do a bonko thing or two or three or oh you get the idea.

Leolaia of course it is, thanks for asking however. Everyone really needs to see that individual JWs may be very nice, and harmless, but this organization is dangerous.

i was beyond shocked at this i do not know why i am shocked and i am shaking as i type this.

i decided to tie in by the phone line today, i live on the west coast and they are only on paragraph 3 yet a "brother" who had been an elder for years and who's wife left him years ago he is in his late 50's now just commented about selma and he said 'that later in the study it talks about a study who's husband was abusive physically and verbally, yet when the study complained the sister studying with her reminded her of who was the christian and the study realized that she was in the wrong and so her husband came in the truth.

In search of a better word...

my jw brother-in-law is 32. he admitted to me the other day he's been inactive since 1989 (pretty much right after baptism).

he stopped going to the meetings in 2003, and acknowledges he is a fader.. his reason for not attending the meetings was the lack of passion for jehovah exhibited by the elders and the brothers and sisters.

he attended four different congregations in the fort worth/haltom city area of texas.

I wasn't "in" for 20 years, but still believed. Difference between him and I, was I didn't know the dirty secrets of the WT, only the 1975 fiasco, and I was still trying to buy their excuse "it didn't happen"

Once I found stuff out, UN and Pedophilia were it for me, I started digging like crazy. I did go for a while, where I still wouldn't speak out against the GB, and was apalled by the lack of respect of those who did. You see, I knew they were corrupt enough that I wouldn't go back, but I still believed Jehovah was using them. It's weird, I know.

Combination research and learning about mind control was what severed all ties for me. They are just men, corrupt and evil.

Today I say, when talking about that part of my wake up, I was a "defender of the faith" Didn't believe, but still defended those men. Friggen mind control, it is so ingrained in us GB = Jehovah, speak against them, is to speak against god, etc...over and over and over and over for years and years. It does a number on you. Especially when it's ingrained in you from infancy.

"some were led to believe"... ALL were led to believe because the all mighty organization led us to believe. Like we have ANY choice as active JWs to do anything BUT believe. Friggen ticks me off.

I sent letters and copies of that article everywhere I could think of. DV shelters and organizations, News (tv and print), women's studies at colleges. Etc. Sent tons out. I get so tickled to hear others are too. If there is enoug squeaking, maybe the issue will get attention.

I didn't get much encouraging feedback (what little I did get) but you never know, the info may just land in the right hands that can actually do something. The ball has to start rolling somewhere.
