  what detriment is there of religious study for children?

  children learn religions at school and hopefully here in the uk they are taught a balanced unbias view on all religious beliefs pacticed in the world leading to a more harmonious and less separate world.. it should be safe to assume that the jw teachings wouldn't be any different...open and honest.

  these are the exact words from the mouth of a 7 year old boy to his father , namely me (the father).

  yes i am a non believer but also very concerned that his mother, an active & obsessed jw is filling his mind with this sort of thing.

  alarm bells are ringing in my head because last night was not the first time he said it.

  My JW partner and I are seperated and I get my son to come and stay with me regularly. He is an honest and a bright lad. Yesterday I had to enquire about Jesus and what his mother had taught him,..Yes it is worth having a watchful eye over these matters especially over a statement he came out with earlier this year "When Jesus comes back he is going to kill you". He sheepishly admitted that his mother warned him not to tell me what he had been learning. Not the first time I must add . She has this thing about even having guests over who are JWs. It becomes a secret. Doesn't take a genius to work out when she is holding back over child care arrangements to work out what is going on.

  I know why because I am an atheist that my thinking is be dangerous to his "indoctrination". However it is not only shameful for her to do this, but it also could lead onto something far more damaging. Yes i am talking about the child molestation policies of the WT.

  Getting back to the plot however, secrets are definitly a warfare tactic therefore I am at war with my wife, her teachings and the WT? That means they declaired war on me?. Like Hitler marching in to Poland its' the same thing. Move in, dominate and exploit. They did that with a member of my family.

  So WT teaching are so shakey that they could be ripped apart from a person not interested in religious affairs? A knowledge of hstory will blow apart any JW statement " things are getting worse" if the person is not obsessed over the biblical end of the world rediculousness. but children are not logical thinkers at 7 years old. They feel. Certainly a child who has 2 different views could easily see the flaws and become able to make decisions on his own if he is taught to do so. BUT this could well be damaging to him because this issue is between two shaping parents. The WT won't leave it be and are determined to drag me into this, neither do i have the time nor the inclination to read their rubbish or read the bible but this indoctrination needs to be combatted.

  Is there a specific resourse they use to teach children? I need to get hold of this to know what is being burried into his mind.

  as many of us are aware the wt society has done quite nicely in a material way for themselves.

  the sales of properties of the former " bethel " in brooklyn amassed them millions of more $$$$ .

  they have relocated into upstate new york and are building like wildmen.

  Would the WT allow a memeber to do overtime to ensure that he or she can provide for the family? WT doctrine is no different from any other church. RC church who they vermently villify that adorned themselves in riches and monies. I find it disturbing in this century people would put an worn out ideal before their well being. I sit here thinking about the don't love money ideal. It relates to who? Rich men? Governments? Jesus was lucky to have been provide with presents at his birth. How many parents today would love to be able to provide that something extra for their children when it really counted? Hard to do when you have a religious monkey on your back telling you you should be working for him for free!!

  Illuminati and the Watchtower

  now i know this forum has already touched on this topic many times but i'm coming at this from a personal angle.

  as i've said on this forum before, my wife is an active jw and has been getting more and more active while trying to indoctrinate my 21 year old son, who still lives at home and is not working but is going to a community college.

  my wife takes him and my 7 years old daughter to some meetings and conventions.

  NoStonecutters. I would instantly recognise some information in what you are saying by the fact you mensioned the occult. I knew someone who was Studying Mme Blavatskis doctrines and was part of an occult society. Heaven knows I cannot remember the societys' name she was linked to however learning a few things about Mme Blavatski she was about at the same time as Russel. A brief encounter with some information about Russel mensioned her name. She has clearly a prayer which included the words "Gods Great Plan" entwinded within the prayer for Occultists. Not much info but history and knowledge will show connections and influences which bring about todays thinking of religious leaders.

  here is one way that i think the wt is absolutely wrong in it's advice on raising children:.

  in the 1/13 awake they talk about mistakes that parents make with their children.

  We should actually isten to children, give them the respect they deserve. I was thrown out of my JW serving wifes house for contradicting her. My son said she was rubbish. He was referring to the amount of time she took getting upstairs to read him a story, and yes this is true.... always has to just tidy up or read some more of that awake garbage.... She was livid at his statement. shouting and screaming.

  She should have discussed it with him rather than punish him. I understood exactly what he was talking about we'd discussed it. Although she was saying it was disrespectful and he shouldn't say things like that about adults. She is wrong. He has formed and gave an honest opinion. ( I think in all honestly is that she knew she was wrong and couldn't admit it). She also is the sort of person who has never asppologized to anyone. My son doesn't like her much.. Where is the love JC was preaching about?

  Forget the Watchtower,...we are celebrating Christmas

  last year i banned a bible class from my house on christmas eve because i took the impression they were coming to gloat over taking my wife away with them.

  i celebrated the seasons festivities with my son.

  this year, now i am seperated from her i will be having my son around to celebrate the festivities, i will be seeing him take part in the school nativity play (even if i am and atheist).

  Last year I banned a bible class from my house on christmas eve because I took the impression they were coming to gloat over taking my wife away with them. I celebrated the seasons festivities with my son. THis year, now I am seperated from her I will be having my son around to celebrate the festivities, I will be seeing him take part in the school nativity play (even if I am and Atheist). It is a good warm time. Forget what the WT have said in their publications about being a stressful time of the year. What do they know?

  especially in reference to non jw things?

  example, " it is such a blessing to have x,y or z government agency to help...." is this normal?
