Menlo Park KH - Elder Tells All - and more
by Juan Viejo2 ini've published part one of a three part series about the menlo park kh scandal.
http://ex-jw.com/menlo-park-elder-tells-all-1.
this has been a tough one for me.. the original federal case was dismissed in january.

Based on what happened with the KH I was involved in ALL OF THIS seems plausible and factual...time will tell...

So what do your Jehovah's Witness friends and loved ones think of the generation teaching?
by garyneal inafter the little skit at the last assembly where one brother was asking another for understanding about the generation teaching i thought, "wow, these people will believe anything the watchtower tells them.
" the 'more mature brother' practically said verbatim everything the watchtower said as his explanation.
evidently, this is one of the sources of the increased 'murmuring' that the talked warned against.. so, has anyone brought this up to their witness friends and/or family?

It took me some time to realize what you all have stated, but it is true: JWs are taught that we MUST have the answers to everything or life has NO MEANING!! Once I realized and and accpeted that NOTHING is guaranteed, that NO ONE knows the reasons for suffering, violence, etc, that life IS WHAT IT IS and we need to make the BEST OF IT I cold move on! I finally realized that the best we can do is live our lives in a way to have a positive impact on our families and society...only then could I find peace...something most JWs will NEVER know.

I remember that place. It was as a dump when it was purchased. It was renovated and maintained with free labor and was immaculate when sold. Great investment. Oh, but we should not be interested in good investments or making a profit. My bad.

5/15 WT - WT Society Displays Condescending Attitude towards Marriage
by flipper inas most of us know the wt society has always claimed that it's dissapproved in god's sight to marry a non-jw .
although they've never made it a disfellowshipping offense, any jw who marries outside the jw organization is looked at as " weak " or lacking " spirituality " and loses certain alleged " privileges " in the congregations.
they use scriptures in the old testament as support for this.

There are many elders who were once "unbeleivers" and married a JW. I know one who now conducts the WT. He was my brother-in-law. I wonder what he thinks? I wonder what his wife thinks?

Since exiting the Witnesses have you Become More " Spiritual " ? - Not ........
by flipper in..... necessarily more religious, but more spiritual in a non-religious way ?
although being religious is one of the definitions os " spiritual " it encompasses much more in the webster's new world dictionary , under the word spiritual it's definition is : " 1. of the spirit or the soul as distinguished from the body or material matters 2. of, from, or concerned with the intellect ; intellectual 3. of or consisting of spirit ; not corporeal 4. characterized by the ascendancy of the spirit ; showing much refinement of thought and feeling 5. of religion or the church ; sacred, devotional, or ecclesiastical ; not lay or temporal 6. spiritualistic or supernatural .
quite a variety of definitions !

I belive I am more spiritual. I REALLY listen to what others believe and try to understand. I don't believe in organized religion at all, but try to focus on the principals I can glean from religious, philosophical and secualr giants. I enjoy life without hurting others. I am finally FREE. I am finally ME.

Is there any religion that has so much anti-apostate focus as JWs
by yadda yadda 2 ini'm surprised at how much is in the watchtower lately and at assemblies warning of apostates.
is it my imagination or is this ramping up a lot lately.
i am a born-in and stopped attending only a few years ago (now in my 40's) but don't remember so much anti-apostate warning as we see now.. the watchtower seems extra obsessed with apostates and the need to warn about them lately.

I don't know the answer to that but I can tell you that all of my family and friends has cut me off even though I am not disfellowshipped, but inactive. There position is, if you are not with us, then we are not with you. I don't ever remember treating and inactive person that way. Ever.

Letter to the Writing Department from Barbara Anderson
by Dogpatch ini thought i knew you.
an open letter from barbara anderson to watch towers writing department.
in 1517, martin luther wrote in a letter to archbishop albert of mainz: you must graciously forgive that i, that scum of the earth, am so bold as to dare to address a letter to you.. yes, i know, you think of me as scum, just like mainz believed of luther, wondering how i dare write you a letter, someone jehovahs witnesses disfellowshipped back in 2002. i was accused of being an unrepentant sinner and condemned for causing divisions, then labeled apostate because i spoke out publicly on nbcs dateline tv program aboutthe child sexual abuse policies that protected pedophiles policies that you helped formulate.

I know Barbara personally and have a great deal of respect for her. I know many in the Writing Department as well. I have worked as a researcher for them. They will read her letter. They have to. They know she is an OUTSANDING researcher and they know she is right. An article refuting her ideas will be forthcoming.
Go get 'em Barbara.
