the u.s. government is returning john walker to the states for trial.
what do you consider an appropriate punishment for his mis-deeds?.
i think, he should be[if found guilty]stipped of his citizenship and returned to somewhere in the mideast to spend the rest of his life,with no possibility to return to the u.s. for any reason.
MORNING ALL;
GWEEDO; Thanks for the information on David Hicks. I was unaware of him and his suspected involment.
ASHI; You mentioned Manson being brainwashed by acid. This, I feel, is incorrect. Acid/LSD produces halucinations and ruins the circuits in the brain. I know,I am living proof of this. Acid may have been a significant part in his unusual reasoning but not brainwashing.
I came up with a few names from the Viet Nam era that had problems similar to Walker/Hicks. These people's situations are not to be contrued as my support or condemnation for any ones actions. The are just their situation as reported. They are;
Bobby Garwood
Sgt. Jon M. Sweeney
Ltc. Edison Miller

Seeker; I don't know as I let that era pass for me. I was hoping some one could shed some light as to what happened. Seems to me there were only 2 or 3 that were actually noted. I don't know if they were even charged.

Seeker; This is a presidential dream, it can be spun so many ways so easily. I rarely listen to political comments from him or anyone, because of the manipulation facts.
UR; you are correct in your statement of facts concerning JWL. I have not condemned him, but am merely speculationg on punishment SHOULD he be found guilty of some infractions. As a side note; during the Vietnam ordeal[which I was a 7 time paticipant]there were a few U.S. service men that changed sides. Anyone know what happened to them?

Seeker; What you say about the media[paper and tv/radio] is exactly true. They have an agenda, such as the WT does...they wish to sell their product. Stroking the public with mis-information and hype is what they do. OJ is a prime example of their showmanship.

HI,GWEEDO, I am not familiar with David Hicks, can you provide me with some information on him?
Seeker;Thank you for your weighty response. I posted this query to get a sounding of peoples views. As you can see, most favor a stern punishment. My original post, stated "if found guilty". I am sure he will receive a fair hearing[probably far better than myself or another average citizen would] as far as our "poor" legal system[according to some] will allow. I don't see the "MOB" mentality that you see; I see the venting of pain and anger for the perceived act of terrorism[that of being aligned with those who injured the U.S.]
TMS; That's a fairly heavy burden, isn't it??
we have no problems in our relationship about the toilet seat.
but others seem to make a big deal as to whether the guy should leave it down for us ladies.. what's your take on this?
take into account ladies that if a man puts it down, and we leave it down, he has to always be putting it up.
I always return it to the position I found it. My cats don't seem to care which way it is.
