That was very sound advice. I am greatly impressed by your balanced and thorough point of view regarding insurance companies and injuries that are not readily apparent.
the other driver turned left in front of me and i hit him hard.
my car is a total mess.
i'm not sure if they are going to total it.

Aside from some soreness, there were no serious injuries on either side? Glad to hear you are ok, and the rest is just steel and paint. But the disruption to your life is a real bother. It will pass, but so sorry you have to go through it.
i'll start the ball rolling.
dealing with kids in any type of judicial manner.
i would do everything i could to get parents to "deal with it-kindly" at home.
@Balaamsass, Thanks for the 3 bears explanation.
And I have to agree with your observations that anyone who doesn't agree with the WTS is disfellowshipped and shunned on the lame charges of 'attempting to cause a division', or 'rebelling'. I see this as a cult-like trait that proves the WTS doesn't have the *truth* at all. It's insistence on absolute conformity is perverted.

@000DAD, Thank you for the explanations.
@ Anony Mous, Can you explain how the ectopian pregnancy got to be a Judicial matter? Or link me to where you've already explained it?
Also, cheers to you regarding the stand you took with your daughter's need for blood. At the peak of my convictions that this religion was the truth, I had already decided that if it came to sacrificing a child I could never do it.

I was never an elder, but I love hearing from those who were regarding things the rest of us didn't see.
A few questions,
-What is T.O.S.?
-Who are the 3 bears? The Judicial Committee?
-What is an 'ectopian pregnancy'? Couldn't find ectopian in the dictionary.
what do you make of this statement made by the elderette in her comment this week?
she is refering to the weak ones in the halls.
this is not an uncommon statement made by the pious ones..
It would be more accurate to say,
The angels are bring them in the front door, and you are kicking them out the back door.
But that's not exactly right either, since the angels aren't bringing anyone into the Watchtower.
juni's thread got me looking at my pics from europe may 2011. a trip i feel like i waited my entire life for.
i posted this one on the other thread, but i'll post again for context.. .
there's a kitty in here!.
@ Sabastious and Poppers,
Thank you for the nice remarks.
@Berengaria, how did you take that shot of the Falls
The picture was not so hard to get. It was taken from Glacier Point, a place that overlooks Yosemite Valley. (Beautiful view by the way; you can see the whole valley right below you, and all the main granite landmarks are about on your level. Half Dome is to your right, so close!)
The waterfall is across the valley, far away on the opposite wall. I heard somebody say 'Look at the rainbow on the falls'. I had to wait my turn to get to the rail for a clear view, then braced the camera against the rail to hold it steady...it was a long telephoto shot. The rainbow covered the bottom part of the falls.
The colorizing was done by experimenting in Photoshop.
Thank you for liking the photos!

My vacations these days are mostly day hikes. Photos from the LadyBut Trail, and Yosemite Falls, in California.
there is a sister in our hall who has made it clear why her "jehovah" does not like weak ones.
her husband the po, will refuse to work with those who are not getting ten hours or more a month.
the weak ones "are spiritually dangerous and will bring you down.
1. Have you been inactive in the Field Ministry over the last year during any month? Yes or No.
2. Have you ever been disfellowshiped before? Yes or No
3. Do you suffer from emotional problems? Yes or No
4. Have you called the Elders late at night to discuss a personal problem? Yes or No?
5. Is your meeting attendence below average? Yes or No?
6. Do you have children at home who are not attending meetings? Yes Or No?
Are there really JWs that have made themselves this aloof and exclusive? In my 40 year associatiion with them, I never heard anything like this, but I have been away for the last 5. This is another form of 'class distinction', and maybe it's getting worse as the Society cracks the whip harder and harder against so-called apostates.
please dont be guilty of the sins you have indicted the wt of commiting.
something is common to all on this discussion board, we are quick at castigating the watchtower.
although, i understand your reasons for doing so, but i will warn you not to be guilt of the same offense the wt had committed.
