It's truly sad that such sincere, childlike, words of truth have no affect on most JWs. Only the cold, hard, disconnected words of the GB do.

Lol at Awake quote about gayz!
by TimothyT inare you a member of the homosexual community?
) can you say that you have honestly found satisfaction and fulfillment in that way of life?

This is a perfect example of Watchtower's slanted thinking. It says...
"Their course, says homosexual William Carroll, “can lead to cynicism, despair and even suicide.”"
But is their "cynicism, despair, and suicide" directly related to being gay, or is it a result of the negative pressures put on them by society? That is not addressed.
It is also true that many people that have become Jehovah's Witnesses have fallen into "cynicism, despair, and even suicide."
Is that a direct result of being Watchtower followers? Quite often, yes.
Then it should follow, 'Why let that happen to you? Why not change course...?" Of course this would mean turning your back on the WTS, or never getting involved in the first place.
Yet for some reason, most Jehovah's Witnesses never open their eyes wide enough to see the double standard in such reasoning.

Curious about something.
If they had announced D8TA as disfellowshipped, or something like that, on what grounds would he have sued them in civil court? What would have been the cause of action?

Shewww-Weeee.
After reading that last answer, it becomes so clear that this religion is not at all about Worshiping God, Christianity, or Bible Truth. It's all about being legalistic, maneuvering, achieving deniability, being controlling, ect. It looks more cult-like every day.

@Blondie,
Yes, that was a good finish to your post. JWs are taught to hate, hate, hate all who are labeled as apostates, and that includes hating wonderful, god-fearing people who leave the religion for good reasons, such as showing respect for life.
Then, after all the hate speech, they say 'We are living proof that hatred can be abolished.' How misled!

Victoria, Australia: WTBTS and GB of JWs have shown themselves to be "GUILTY" respecting previous noncompliance with Working With Children Laws
by AndersonsInfo inthe watch tower society, the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses, the faithful and discreet slave, and the governing body of jehovah's witnesses, last week issued a "special" letter to all bodies of elders in the state of victoria instructing them to immediately apply for their working with children licenses and to comply with child protection laws.
the letter includes instructions that the contents are not to be made public or shared with members of the congregation.. .
this means an investigation authorized by the governing body of jehovah's witnesses and initiated by lawyers representing the watch tower bible and tract society of pennsylvania, inc. have concluded that the victorian working with children act 2005 and the associated child protection laws do indeed apply to all elders serving in congregations throughout the state of victoria both in the public ministry and in their internal ministry, which includes the theocratic ministry school.. .

The OP said, "Each of the 35 charges carries a fine of up to Au$144,000 and a criminal conviction."
If that fine was assessed on all 35 charges, that's over 5 million Au dollars in fines! ($5,040,000)
Would be nice to see the WTS have to explain that expenditure to the followers. But 35 criminal convictions would be would be nice too.

@Band on the Run, who said, "This indicates a heirarchal religion....The Church felt ignorant people needed all the wisdom of the accumulated Church Fathers to interpret scripture. Another group believes that only through their literature can one understand their Bible."
So many similarities between the WTS and a religion it strongly condemns.

@ Barbara Anderson..."Perhaps I should have waited on posting..."
No! This is such a hot topic, any information you can get, we want it. Some of the details can wait.
@ Mad Sweeney..."My guess is they have been removing known pedophiles either from their position as elders in Victoria or physically moving them out of the state..."
Wasn't a higher up (director?) recently moved from the Australian branch to Poland? I seem to remember reading it here a week or two ago. I wondered at the time if the background check might be the reason. I guess it could have been for a lot of reasons, but it seems very coincidental.
