Fundies here say that God was paying the sinners of New Orleans their due recompense. I work with a guy who thinks that. Ain't much difference between one fanatical nut and another.
That is why I really can't talk to many religious people anymore. They are always blaming bad things on God's judgements. My BIL said yesterday, that NewOrleans was just a Sodom and Gomorrah anyway. And I wanted to puke, what a hypocrite. I wonder what he was busy doing a few weeks ago with that other woman?? Humm , sounds kind of like "immoral Sodom and Gomorrah".

Katrina Aftermath - whatever happened to personal responsibility?
by EscapedLifer1 inok, all you "bleedin' hearts" get ready to flame me..... i have been watching the developments in the devastated areas like everyone else, and something has begun to strike me.
there seems to be tens of thousands of people who are just sitting around waiting for help to miraculously drop out of the sky, and the longer they sit idle, the madder they get that the government hasn't swooped in and immediately solved all their problems.
i have a few questions about this mindset:.

Why is everyone in the mindset that people's hardships in this disaster are all the government's fault?
Because we pay them to handle these problems. When you hire/pay someone to do something, they don't do it, and you are experiencing personal dire consequences as a result, don't you have the right to be pissed off?AMEN!!!
Well it is Friday,,,,,,,and the Military is finally here in Louisiana.....with much needed supplies.......Finally they have food and water. MY GAWD,,,,,,,,,,why so many days for them to just get at least water.......they could have done this days ago. People have died because of the snails pace of the relief effort.

But for these officers to so brazenly rip off clothes, shoes and anything else you can lay your hands on is shocking
I dont fault people even looting for clothes. But I know what you mean if they are walking out with tons of clothes or shoes just because they are name brands , expensive things they can't use.
There were a few young black guys that got stopped on camera and they cops tried to take the shoes they took, and they showed their feet....pulling them out of the water........they had NO shoes on at all. Seems like they really did need those shoes.
If the officers are looting.......even if it is for necessary things, how in the world are they going to have a zero tolerance on all looting policy and condemn others for doing it too?

God Bless Texas.....thank you Houston
by LyinEyes inwith all the sickening things i have seen on the news today,,,,,,,it is great to see those people in houston , texas opening their arms taking in the evacuees.
it is good to hear the postive side of human nature during this terrible time.
i hope in the days to come the shift will be to some action being taken down in neworleans in a postive way, finally getting law and order down there.

Bill O'Reilly asked about what if it had been a terrorist attack, and how long it would take to get a response if that had happened. Would it be 4 days then? I thought that was a good point.
I thought the same thing.
You mean to tell me the greatest nation with equallygreat, ready to act military.........can not control a bunch of thugs down in New Orleans??
They should have already went down there , and gained control over this situation.
Help can not be given to the ones who need it, the law abiders, the sick, the children, the elderly, because the thugs want to shoot.
So they can't do anything, they dont want to get shot I understand that........why thou so long in getting SWAT military police ....should have been activated much, much sooner.

The above was from the CNN website.
