I put out a challenge to the prophets here to see if they could predict the color and pattern of my shirt. First they claimed they had, then they said they wouldn't, then they said it didn't work that way, then they said God wouldn't stoop that low, then they said God would take away their prophecy powers if they used them that way.

I'm not sure if it's ever been printed but I've heard it said by many JWs that when the UN turns on religion everyone 'claiming to be a Christian' (not a jw) will immediately give up their religion.

It's a fool's dream. In the US, the most militant of the religious are ALSO the most militant gun owners and make no bones about taking up arms to defend their faith.

I know this to be anecdotally true from living in the south, being a member of a private gun range and living in a town with 3 churches for every square mile. And being a liberal atheist that owns 11 guns.

But what is the point of constantly trying to find fault with their mission or leadership and blasting it like a bunch of desparate cheerleaders?

The point is that they have broken the law and made mistakes that can hurt people and have fixed neither while setting themselves up as leaders all while refusing to fix their mistakes. They have demonstrated lack of education, judgement and understanding right out of the gate with zero accountability or plans to fix the problems.

Far from cheerleading their demise, they were greeted with open arms until their actions burned many members here and they shrugged it off and blamed the victims.

the european space agency has produced a fascinating map of the universe using the super dooper plank satelite.. by stripping out dust emissions and radio frequencies from the milky way galaxy and more distant objects to leave just the afterglow of the big bang, an image of the microwave radiation (measured over a 15 month period) has been obtained that gives an extremely precise picture of the universe just 380,000 years after the big bang.. what we have learned from this data is the universe is some 80 million years older than we thought, the universe is made up of slightly more ordinary matter than was previously thought - 4.9% of all matter, up from 4.5% - and that there is less dark energy (which cosmologists don't understand) than previously thought and also it has an axis of evil (it appears the early universe was assymetrical) and a cold spot!!.

so we need to go back to the drawing board with regard to inflation theory to account for the asymmetry and cold spot.. this is why i love science, the more we learn, the more we have to learn.
