Have they announced the new meeting arrangement yet?
by JimmyPage ini was thinking it will be at the midweek meeting and not today.
is that correct?
-
kramer
Yes, it's official. All mid week meetings are now in fancy dress. But brothers and sisters should use their bible trained consciences when selecting their attire, so brothers or sisters thinking of cross dressing or carrying weapons as part of their costume would need to think about what sort of witness this would give to people in the world. -

Annulment of baptism for a minor?
by Tornintwo ini've seen references to baptism annulment on a few websites, does anyone know if there has ever been a successful annulment of a baptism?.
eg.
a minor claims they didn't understand a key wtbts teaching prior to baptism, is there any realistic chance of annulment?
-

The concept of an annulment is ridiculous, if 20 years ago you verbally agreed to dedicate your life to the creator and the W&BTS , but now have changed your mind, so what, what's the point of asking the organisation for permission to change your mind and ask for their grace to agree an annulment?? -

What is also unbelievable is posters like Slidin Fast posting made up numbers of reductions and then others saying OMG can't believe it, Britain branch will either have a slight decrease or possible 15% increase, plans aren't finalised yet. -

Money, Money, Money...and Money, Money, Money
by The Rebel ini made a post of this, but feel it warrants a thread.
in central london ( paddington) the " property management company" we refer to as jehovers witnesses, bought a church building, which is now a kingdom hall, but with the outside appearance of a church.. i got an explanation from bethel " it's just a building".
well let's give the organisation credit for its business sence.

"Since the WT has taken over EVERYTHING, "
Not sure what you mean by this, " the WT' hasn't taken over anything, congregations are still independent charities, whose assets are still governed by the local members of the charity, the WT owns nothing, in the UK anyway. But it could be argued they are better placed to transfer ownership to other charities with similar objects - such as a centralised worldwide charity with very similar objects - Like - WT-USA. But this is really not a simple matter.

What will you do?
by Defianttruth ini've been thinking, "what if it does fail and there is a mass exodus?".
i have been wronged and damaged greatly by these ones.
every one needs to handle this situation in his or her own way, but as for me if it does happen, i will meet them with open arms.

you think there will be a mass exodus??? 0% growth is the best you can hope for, otherwise its 1-2% for the next 10 years at least

But there are two bedroom flats in the area for £2m £3.7m, so money to be made if permission was there. -

Don't be silly , there is no way you would get 50 flats on that site, 15 maximum, also the building is listed so pretty much can't be changed and also you wouldn't get consent for change of use from the local authority , and such a development would be strongly objected against by locals , and you would have to rehouse the 5 congregations or groups that use the hall, which means developing an equally expensive site.... Move along nothing to see here,
