People dont profit, as you have laid out the GB and the top dogs probably get a little more comfort, but people arent making private profit out of this organisation. The property deals in New York, soon to be in London and smaller amounts in other cities, will be one off hits, but thats it, for each $1bn thats about $120 per publisher, not a huge amount.

Who Really Profits from the WTBTS?
by Freedom77 inlike they say in the movies, "follow the money.
" the thought occurred to me the other day - the wt scam rakes in billions of dollars, and yeah some of that goes to operations and equipment.
but bethelites at farm and factory get only a bare little dorm room and a monthly pittance.

JW presence
by Laika inthe underground station i live next to in london is usually relatively quiet, however it is also the local station closest to the wimbledon tennis courts, so for about 2 weeks a year it really comes to life, starting today.
(yay wimbledon!
i saw no jws last year, but they seemed to have cottoned on to this opportunity and were out in force today.

@listner - no following the usual rules of not approaching people. Another one I know of shifted 40 books on a Saturday afternoon, again in a central location in the capital city. I heard figures for a months placements recently, it averaged out something like 10 magazines per hour per publisher,17,000 hours worked, 170,000 magazines. Having said that I have also seen carts in provincial towns and the attendees looked pretty much asleep.

in a four hour session today, in a relatively busy area in a European capital , 450 magazines and 25 books were shifted. This is pretty representative, it may be quieter in smaller towns but in major metropolitan areas it gets the publications out there

The Governing Body's Currant Money Grab From The Rank And File Will Only Get Worse And More Oppressive
by frankiespeakin inthe governing body are fighting for corporation survival here, and now and they are only going to get worse as the child molestation lawsuits must be paid out so expect more in real eastate sell offs and kingdom hall scemes to rip off the rank and file for every single penny they can get out of them praying on their extreme gulibilty to the limits another words to the breaking point.. this type of double dealing with the hard earned contributions given to support the kingdom halls will very quickly back fire on them causeing more extreme measures to pay the plaintiffs in child molestation lawsuits.
it is a snow ball rolling down the hill..

Just remind me again, is the society nearly bankrupt and fighting for survival, or banking hundreds of millions if not billions through donation and property deals in London and New York?... I do forget things..

There is no way silly minority parties will get parliament seats..... They only do Ok in Europe because of the pr. Voting system, and the council voting methods let them in a bit.....

UK Elders. Recommendation Letters.. Freedom of Information Act.
by kramer infrom my experience, elders dont want to reveal the contents of a recommendation letter.
but as each congregation is a legally constituted charity and hence public body they are open to all the disclosure obligations of other public bodes.
do any uk elders or ex elders have any experience of people who demanded or wanted to see their recommendation letters, or who have gone through the process of a freedom of information request to get to see these?.

thanks for the reply cantleave, the S8 is the form to record interest or not at homes of members of the public,... I am referring to the letters sent between congregation secretaries when a publisher moves congregations.
