Phone call straight after the Royal Commission

straight after the commission ended today within minutes, the phone rang.

it was one of the people who are working on it.

firstly she established if i was alright and did i want to talk.. i said i was too tired and unhappy that geoffrey jackson managed to do some preaching....she said they were aware of that.

I personally think Brother Jacksons testimony was the best thing that has ever happened in relation to the issue of child abuse within our organisation

By there being no mention of GJ's "presumptuous" rebuttal concerning the GB being in direct communication with God in those nauseating worship posts, indicates why "new light" is never questioned and so readily accepted by the die-hard Org zombie. I don't believe there exists a limit as to what those zombies will overlook in order to safegaud the fantasy.

Who is the Royal Commission?

so we have the english convention this week.

a bunch of families whom i know but have not seen in a few years are attending.

they are not assigned but got a group together to visit the city and attend a day or two of the convention.

The fact that no one was aware of what the Org is being dragged through, reading only Org publications is a testament to how the Org's control over the older generation is almost complete. Is it because at such a late stage in life they are so hopelessly entwined with the Org, their life foundation completely dependent on it (ALL their family and associations being part of it), or perhaps unlike the younger generation they are not search savvy with the internet and simply relying on Org publications is just less hassle? Is it that the Org's principals and ethics are a close parallel to what they were brought up with during let's say, pre-80's decades and thus Org doctrine/policy harkens back to a time where they felt the world was in a better place morals? I'm sure it's a combination of things in most cases. I would love to see what the statistics are age-wise considering how many older people drop out vs the younger generations.

Are There Good People Out There?

even though i'm no longer mentally a jw (i still technically am) i do recognize that there are some benefits to being raised one.

for example, the first (and only so far) wordly guy i was involved with had to smoke weed every day and got drunk all the time and that was his idea of fun.

i couldn't help but feel bad for him.

The problem is obvious. All she has ever known is the little bubble of the Org universe. She has no real life experience and it shows. She needs to realize that if you've been fed cheddar all your life and you're offered gorgonzola once not every other cheese besides cheddar is going to stink. You now know of two cheeses, are you going to discount all the others and stick to cheddar? If that's what you're comfortable with, fine but don't ever claim that you tried other cheese, one other one does not count.

Of course the world is inhabited by a huge cross section of diversity, there are assholes everywhere. Live alone long enough in a cave and I bet the odds are good that the first person that stumbles across you is likely to be an asshole. Don't let one person spoil it for you, there are so many character combinations out there. Write this off as a bad experience which you're likely to have a few more of, That's life. For every bad experience there is a good one, I promise.
Dont go looking for "Mr. Right" as a priority. Keep your mind focused on making yourself happy and what it will require tommake that happen. In the meantime Go out, meet people, have fun, enjoy the smell of the flowers, grass under your feet, wind in your face and take every opportunity to laugh. Keep us up to date, we're rooting for you!
