  i stumbled upon this website a few weeks ago due to the jw.org ridiculousness, since then i haven't been able to pull myself away.

  the thoughts, feelings, and concerns i have had the past few years aren't just mine.

  it's global.

  Welcome All;

  I had 50 yrs. in before gaining TTATT. If you haven't read Ray Franz' account in Crisis of Conscience, I would recommend it. His account alone was enough to convince me to leave. I still believe the witnesses had a number of things right, but what they got wrong, they got tragically wrong. jwfacts.com rebuttal of 1914 is a must read. Once free of that deception, a number of others topple like dominos. In the end I've come to believe both Paul's & Jesus' view that there will be a resurrection of " the rightneous & the unrighteous"....basically everyone. That being the case; I no longer worry about the future. At my age I have no more time to waste on worthless endeavors.

  JW.ORG signs on Assembly Hall

  what the hell is going on here?

  i drove past the assembly hall today and noticed the square blue jw.org signs on the building.

  coupled with the steel gate that keeps worldlings out, it really looks quite cultish.. so is that the new name for the kingdom halls or something?

  I saw one on a hall in the Rochester, NY area. I work with a witness & mentioned how everything is being downsized & slowing down. He said they were "simplifying". You just have to marvel at those spin doctors.

  Saturday morning field service is a joke

  i havent been going door to door saturday mornings for since i can't remember when.

  i have been putting in regular reports to the congregation but the last time i actually went on a door was probably six months ago or so and it has been at least 2 years since i did a saturday morning.

  9:30 we showed up to the group arrangement, we waited outside because we were not sure that it was the right place.

  I pass the local hall on Saturdays & watch the usual three cars leave the parking lot. Sure do miss wasting Saturday mornings driving around aimlessly. Even as an elder, I knew this was a worthless endeavor. I still catch a few witnesses at the Tim Horton's in Geneva, NY. At least they know good coffee. Who would have thought those crafty Canadians could make good coffee. Where do they grow coffee in Canada?

  It's my birthday today

  ... but most of my new (post jw) friends either don't know my birth date (if people don't specifically ask i won't tell them), or they are 2500 kilometers away in the netherlands... so all that's left to celebrate with me are my hubby, the two doggies, cat and my two rabbits... mixed feelings, i miss my friends and family around and haven't found friends in spain yet.

  luckily our daughter will visit us the end of the month... and yesterday we've found a new rental house and we're moving into it next month already!

  i'm thrilled and really looking forward to it, then we will finally be able to let all the rest of our belongings come to spain (2/3 of our stuff is stored in the netherlands).. so with this in mind, i'll just say 'happy birthday to me' and will enjoy my third birthday in espana .

  after missing 63 years of birthday celebrations, i'm making up for it in spades.

  BEING SHUNNED

  after almost 40 years of being shunned by close family members, it never gets easier.

  my own mother is under the spell of the "organization" and won't even write to me.

  for a long time i sent her things - cards, news articles of interest, jokes, etc - i finally gave up.

  I've been out 7 yrs. now. My mother's gone. My oldest daughter is still in. Evidently her nonJW husband doesn't want to rock the boat by bringing my grandkids over. So I have to live with it. It hurts less every year. I have since enjoyed my wife's nieces & nephews. My mother-in-law's house just swarms with kids on every holiday. I am the oldest of 9. I haven't seen many of them or my father in years. All live within 60 miles of me. And most are not JW's. What is family? Family has nothing to do with blood. Seek out those who love you. They're your family.

  I like the similarities to the Scribes & Pharisees. Jesus called them out on hypocrisy. AMATEURS !!! These guys make them look like choir boys. I do wish there was a burning hell for monsters like these guys. You might want to cut them some slack believing they were sincere. So was Hitler.

  ........ well at least the ones i encountered on my recent holiday to orlando.

  now i know that its a tourist destintion so everyone working in the hotels and parks are on their best behaviour.

  but i have been to tourist towns here in the uk and europe but not one is on a par with you guys.. my husband and i haven't stopped talking about to anyone that wants to listen.

  I spent 50 yrs. in this cult. I've watched loved ones & friends die waiting in earnest for Armageddon. My generation is the last that will obey blindly. Losing their only cash cow has to have a serious impact eventually. Fortunately for the next generation, they have access to TTAT. At some point, all this has to reach critical mass. I only hope I'm still here to celebrate that day.
