Every time the Society is shown to make any type of error of judgement underscores the truth that someone is responsible. If they are correct in their assertion that they are the only true religion guided by God himself, certainly God would not allow them to make so many greivous mistakes. He would have to violate the prime commandment of showing love for one another. If on the other hand, they are just another man made religion, why listen to this crap? I believe more and more within the organization will opt for the latter & leave.

I admire those of you in helping others out. After 50 yrs. in, I thankfully, never helped anyone to join. Wish I could really help others out, but once out & labeled as an apostate, no one will listen. Keep up the good work. Make your time in really count. (I'll send some time cards. You can count this time as helping others see the truth.)

The Predictions Thread
by cedars ini thought it might be interesting and fun to have a "predictions thread", where we set out our predictions for events to unfold concerning the watch tower society (or jehovah's witnesses in general) over the coming years/decades.. it strikes me that so much has happened in the last ten years, most of which has defied expectations.
here's just a few of the developments that i can think of:.
the abolishment of group book studies in favor of a "family worship evening"the creation of a "study edition" watchtowerthe halving of monthly magazine printing commitmentsthe unprecedented closure/merging of branches (16% reduction in branches last year)the menlo park scandal, a body of elders removed for resisting a refurb of their kingdom hallthe lawsuits in victoria, australia - the society taken to court concerning child protection lawscourtroom admissions about the faithful & discreet slave and similarities with the catholic churchincreased hate speech against "mentally diseased" apostatesastonishing lapses of judgment, such as the "selma and steve" study articlethe ditching of gilead as a school for missionariesambitious construction plans for a new world hq (with or without jehovah's blessing!

2014- WT rocked by mass exodus over ever increasing lawsuits & flip-flops. New religion formed with core followers. This religion wisely stays away from pious, self-rightheous, self-centered headship. Stays focused on basic Bible principles. WBTS withers into group of radical elitists. Is finally destroyed by some government dictate.

If you were a Witness, when did you realize the Governing Body was apostate?
by matt2414 infor more than 30 years i believed everything that came from the watchtower society, especially since i lived at bethel for a while and i knew a lot of the gb members, who to me seemed intelligent and personable.
at the beginning, the emphasis was on the bible, the kingdom, jehovah and jesus.
but gradually over time, there would appear an elephant in the room that no one seemed to talk about, such as the change in the understanding of "generation.

by mrquik inas you are willing to sacrifice not only your life but the lives of your loved ones, what concrete proof do you have that you are the one true religion, led by jesus christ & guided by jehovah's holy spirit?.

Would you support "Open Carry" legislation in your state?
by Glander inmany states have such laws.
it is being considered in many others.
if legal, would you openly carry a firearm?.

I own several handguns. Routinely carry a Beretta Tomcat 32. It's light & small enough to carry in your pocket yet carries a significant amount of knockdown power. Those of you who believe that Christians should not be armed, remember even the Apostles carried personal weapons. I'm sure if they were available, they'd be carrying Beretta's too.

Where Are They Now?
by minimus inyou know they have that question about stars that were famous back in the day and they went from child star to porn star.. my question---regarding all the witnesses you knew from years ago, where are they now?.
these "true believers"---are they still around or are they long gone by now?.
when i think back to many of the elders that i knew, many are no longer around and those that are are ready to recieve their "reward"..

Hi Mini; I found a group of them huddled in a Tim Horton's a few weekends ago. They're making the Mormons look like preaching zealots.

Sourgrapes; I'm sure with so many other false & misleading statements of when the "end" is by the GB, you, as an intelligent human being, are requesting proof, evidence, anything to support this one other than this delightful little story. So, tell us, what evidence to you receive?

How would you refute . . . ?
by leaving_quietly ini have an issue with preaching.
specifically, going door to door, talking to people who, for the most part, have no desire whatsoever to hear what i have to say.
more specifically, being required to do so as a means of salvation.

The main reason for the preaching work was to "give a warning". This was to, not only save the individual, but also the one who gave the warning so as not to be bloodguilty. The problem arises when the warning is in vain. No one could be faulted for ignoring an organization's warnings that, after a century saw no fulfillment. The question of what a "generation" means is quickly answered by Jesus' initial warning to the Christians in Jerusalem. That time period, from 33 AD when the warning was given to it's fulfillment in 70 AD was 37 years. Time enough for those who heard the warning to benefit from it. And it fits the usual time period of "a generation". There is absolutely no proof that this generation or the next or the next is the LAST generation. So the truth is......SAVE YOUR TIME & GAS MONEY, THE END AIN'T HERE. YOU HAVE NO OBLIGATION TO WARN ANYONE OF AN EVENT THAT YOU HAVE NO IDEA OF WHEN IT IS SUPPOSED TO OCCUR.
