  Why Elders leave the Organization and why their Wives stay.

  i have talked to quite a few brothers who have served as elders and servants and left the organization.

  in most cases their wives have remained in despite the husbands best efforts to persuade his wife that the organization is wrong.

  even though the wife can see problems within they continue to press on in service to the society.

  I left the ex there. Seemed to work out just fine. Other than that weekly check I write to her.

  Tim Horton's

  i have a question for my canadian friends here.

  i go there often, and i see a tim hortons on pretty much every street, like mcdonalds is down here.

  i've gone in to see what the fuss was all about, and all i saw were donuts and pastries i can find in every grocery store or gas station back home.

  Love Tim Horton's. Go to the one in Geneva, NY every morning. Was in Buffalo a few years back. The drive thru line stretched into the road. They had the police directing traffic around it on Transit Rd. Who'd ever thought those crafty Canandians could make good coffee. Probably some master plan on getting us hooked & then taking over the country. I really don't care as long as the coffee keeps flowing.

  Eating Blood v Transfusion . . . same thing?

  the wts ban on the transfusion of whole blood or primary components is established on a number of "principles" which when taken in their entirety give rise to the doctrine.. one important one is the refusal to distinguish between the consumption of blood by eating .

  and the consumption of blood by surgically implanting it (transfusion).

  we've all heard the "alcohol" analogy.

  Not fearing Armageddon

  some time ago i was granted some understanding about 'armageddon', and so i am sharing it with you.

  i should have shared it when i first received it from our lord.. there is nothing to fear if you are not riding out to make war against someone.

  satan deceives the nations and gets them to march against those who belong to christ and god.

  Let's use science & common sense instead. Look at the watch on your wrist. What is the mathematical probability of all the pieces creating themselves individually & then combining on their own to create a watch. Reasonable anwer & one backed by the science of mathematical probability would be zero. Apply that to a single cell. The odds just grow. Keep in mind that we can't create life & we have better odds. (And equipment. Look at neat things Dr. Frankenstein had & it worked out badly for him.)

  CRAZINESS!!! I'M BEING 'MARKED' FOR GOING TO COLLEGE!!!

  ohmygosh!!!

  one of my friends who is a ms told me today that the elders have 'marked' me because i'm a reg.pioneer and i've decided to go to college next semester???!

  he said he can't tell me anymore but to be careful---what the hell does 'mark' mean?

  I was removed as an elder from the congregation for not having a study with my 19 yr. old daughter. She was attending college at that time & made it abundantly clear she was not going to study. I told all this to the committee but the fact that she lived at home made it my personal problem. It came to a head when the CO visited & brought this up at the elders' meeting on Sunday afternoon. He wanted to take a vote. I told him not to bother, I'm resigning. That was the beginning of the end of my involvement in that religion. I later divorced & of course was kicked out. I still was considering reinstatement. Fortunately one guy on the DF committee really wanted to make an example of me. (Thanks Frank) That pissed me off enough to look elsewhere & here I am today. If you live long enough, life just gets funnier & funnier. Hang in there.

  Have you ever played the lottery? Do you still do it?

  i have never purchased lottery tickets in my life, but i have picked lottery numbers with someone in the past only one time.

  he agreed to split the winnings if we win, but we didn't.

  i am thinking about buying some lottery tickets, hopefully i will get very lucky.

  I find playing the lottery alot like praying. You have a hope knowing deep down you're not a winner. Your one dollar admission gives you the daydream you've always wanted. I like the odds better with the lottery though, I know that at least one person will have his prayers answered. (Probably will get a lot of hate mail for this post.)

  48 but if ever that evil slave should say in his heart, my master is delaying, 49 and should start to beat his fellow slaves and should eat and drink with the confirmed drunkards, 50 the master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect and in an hour that he does not know, 51 and will punish him with the greatest severity and will assign him his part with the hypocrites.

  Jesus condemned the Scribes & Pharisees for their pious contempt of the flock. Their cold & heartless treatment of Jesus' sheep, even when they knew what was actually expected of them garnered them everlasting destruction. Sound familiar GB? Sleep well evil slave.
