  I got an Invite to a DUB Wedding!!!!!!!

  well,,,,, not really - but the letter came addressed to my husband - my name is listed on the inside card.

  its for my x-husbands nephew.. i think i might go to the reception (and only the reception - i am not steping foot in a hall if i can help it!!!!

  )- just to see the looks on the faces of those there - but more so for my nephew's sake.

  When my son was married at the hall a few year ago he and his wife were asked if any disfellowshipped or disassociated family or friends would be attending. If so an announcement would be made at the hall warning people that such types may be attending. The bride asked her DFed cousin to stay away as she didn't want that announcement to be made.

  If you want to go, then go and don't worry about it. Ignore the stupid questions if possible or give vague answers. But if you think it will be enjoyable, then go for it.

  Elders

  have you ever noticed (at least around here anyway) that the elders are all well to do?

  they all have nice houses and nice cars.. and nice clothes.. but yet their wives dont work they are all fulltime pioneers.. and the elders jobs arent the best in the world.. how can this be?

  i have never seen a elder with a little house.

  I'm very much an "anti" but where I used to attend the elders wealth wasn't equal. Some were well off, but many were very poor, barely making a living. A few elders wives also worked full time.

  A couple of elders seem to have all the money. They also were NOT honest businessmen.

  how do you feel about the people who helped convert you into a jehovahs witness?.

  are you angery toward them or do you view it as more your fault?.

  did they pester you and persist in calling , was it politeness that made you speak to them?.

  I hold no grudges against those that studied with me and my wife. They are nice people and did their best to be honest about the society, from their viewpoint of course.

  Now I think of them as sadly misinformed, but they seem to be happy and that is what counts. I'm happy too and that counts.

  Now the guy that got me started, before I studied, well he's an idiot. But that's another story.

  Well I suppose that age difference can work. My buddy has a wife that is 21 years older than him. But he's 48 now. The new system didn't show up in time. Now he pushes her around in a wheelchair and she is needing help with baths and toliet issues. Pretty rough.

  Slow down gil, you don't need to fall in love right away. The right one shows up when you aren't looking, but be prepared.

  Ministry School Test

  does anyone remember taking those kingdom ministry school tests once or twice a year at the kh?

  latinadivina713 seems to feel it was meant as a guilt tool to make you study the bible more.

  did anyone really take that test seriously?

  I took the first couple of yearly tests seriously, then I looked around the hall and saw many drawing cartoons. I didn't feel guilty although I bet a lot of people do.
