i was looking through my facebook and one of the friends i have on there is very angry at a particular girl who added brothers and sisters from different congregations as friends for the sole purpose of bashing the jws on their profiles.
they use the word "bashing" but who knows really if all she was doing was showing them genuine, unbiased information about the wt.
anyway, i got a kick out of the fact that an "apostate" infiltrated a lot of jw profiles as a "friend" then went all apostate on them!.
There are talks about FB most notably at the recent DC. They mentioned that there was no clear cut rules, but bible principle to follow when using them. Many elders I know use them.

What I think is terrible is how others(simple disbelievers), and not just in this case can be automatically classified as "instruments of Satan" and "tools". This was discussed brielfy in CoC(still reading).

it was about how the "toes" of daniel's image no longer represent all the individual governments that have come around in human history.
and that the anglo-american world power is the last world power we'll see before the end of the system of things.
What I don't understand is how people who know about his "new light" simply being "old light" can tolerate this. Maybe I just don't understand it all but to me, it seems this way. You have old light, turned into new light, which then goes BACk to old light. Since(I'm assuming) this is a teaching completely unique to JW's, that would mean that God purposefully decieved them into creating that new light in the first place. If this was Gods organization and he is supposedly "feeding" the GB with his holy spirit to provide new and CORRECT light to his followers, there should ONLY have been a new light....and not a falling back to the original. Does anyone agree with what I'm saying?

Personally I have no opinion on it. I never knew/payed attention to what it was before. But they did say at the DC that there was going to be a future WT that would go into more detail about the "new light". I'm sure many here will have fun dissecting it :)

YES. My father is an elder. I go through his elder books and files at times just to check out whats there. There are MASSIVE books. Each contains various files and folders. Many are from the 90's and contain files on publishers who have been disfellowshipped, inactive and any letters sent to and from congregations related to such publisher(standing in the congregation, etc.) So yes you are always on file :0

UGH! I hate articles like this. because then the JW's CHEER that this is the reason they are the true religion. That these articles show how they are persecuted JUST like the bible predicts. If these people know anything about JW's they should know that this would NEVER stop most of them. Conversely, they need to STOP "persecuting" them. Then they really could have no scriptual backing for that crap. ;P
well that depends on the world population.. .
if he had done it it 1914, he would only have killed 2 billion.. if he had done it in 1960, then he would have killed 3 billion.. if he had done it in 1975 ( so now we know why he didn't) he would only have had 4 billion to kill.. so is the question of when armaggedon will come, related to how many he wants to kill?.

OUTLAW: this is precisely my gripe. Based on the JW's own ideologies about things and matters that Jehovah hates, detests and will disown for...I can only imagine about 1 out of every 25 or so witlesses ACTUALLY having even a remote chance of making it through armageddon. What love...
does anyone have a story of a friend throwing their burden on jehovah and it backfiring?
they quit their job due to conflicts with the meetings, or did not take a promotion and went bankrupt......i am looking for some good anti-experiences.
avoiding the obvious i didnt go to college so my life sucked.
I too am curious for these experiences. All I ever hear at the meeting are the throw-ur-burden-on-Jah-and-then-everything-in-life-turns-out-wonderful experiences. Could use some of those "anti" ones

i am a 27 yo girl, i converted into a jw @ 20, at was going thru a difficult time in my life and they bastards sucked me in!!!
i did not realize how controlling things were going to get... about 1 year into my study i moved w another single sister and then baptize, looking back i think i went thru w baptism because i fell pressure by the "loving" congregation that wanted the best for me... i remember coming out of the pool and one of the brothers saying "another victim" and taking a pic of me... anyways, that wasn't the worst of it.... remember single female!!
WECOME. Im so jealous of your current freedom. But much congrats to you. What gets to me is how JW's feel they are so blessed by Jehovah. That any responsibities and priveleges are because Jehovah appoints and directs them. And yet look at what you did. Pioneer just to have them off your back. I seriously doubt Jah would appoint you if that was your motive. Jehovah-directed organization? I think not....
at the meeting tonight was read a letter to all congregations in canada.
it explained that since most publishers end up with left-over public edition magazines that didn't get placed at the end of each month, they will now no longer continue to have an individual magazine order per publisher.
instead, the entire congregation's supply of service edition magazines will be in a stack at the back of the kh, and they are to be taken according to need, with whatever is left over after service to be put back in the stack.
What annoys me is how they brag about the increases and how much needs to be published to keep up with demand. CLEARLY they print FAR more than is necessary! Jeez....
