Interesting point. My father is and elder and member of the HLC. As far as I know, he knows nothing of first aid or CPR. I think the point of them is not to administer first aid but simply to act a physical guide....a...voice if you will...in case you are unable to speak for yourself or if the hospital is giving you trouble. They assume most all the witnesses have the same basic medical wants as far as blood goes so they usually tell doctors all the same thing/

How many elders, HLC members know CPR?
by just n from bethel inanyone who has ever taken a first aid class knows that cpr training and first aid training are basic life saving requirements for anyone in the professional medical community.
if you were ever discussing any medical choices with someone who wanted to advise you on a medical / health decision, you would want to be comfortable that if something were to happen to you all the sudden, that this person you were seeking advice from could provide basic medical aid, like cpr.
if it's a nurse or a doctor or a paramedic, you would expect that they would know what to do.

So which makes more sense? Sex or no sex in the "new system"?
by stillstuckcruz inobviously jah wouldn't allow for millions of pregnancies in the new system for fear of the same problem today of overpopulation.
so would he throw in sex but not allow for the women to become pregnant?
or would there be just no sex at all?

"I also think that the entire universe would be available. So overpopulation would not be an issue. Otherwise, really, what is the point of the entire universe if not for life?"
^Makes enough sense. I don't recall whether or not the WBTS suuports life on other planets. I'm pretty sure that's a negatory though. Plus they say Paradise "Earth". It would be fantastic if God wanted us to populate the entire universe. Sex forever that would mean.

Just something I've noticed that makes me wonder...
by Mr. Falcon ini have found it very odd how much in-fighting and back-biting go on among certian boe's.. and it's rather strange that several (not all) of them will vent to me about how they can't stand this one, or they think this other one is out of line, or that elder's wife talks too much, etc.
or they whine about how many elder meetings they have to go to, or how they are frustrated because they have to deal with sister loudmouth-who-pisses-off-everyone-else.. and i sit there wondering why they would ever want to continue to do this job?
it's thankless, offers no compensation, rips you away from your family, and forces you to rub shoulders with company men and puts you in a position where you have to render judgement on someone with little or no understanding of what the psychological consequences to that person could be.

Ugh. Tell me about it! One elder I worked with in service was telling me about his wife. Negative things. About how she makes him so angry sometimes, etc. I thought it ironic how there was a WT a few wks ago discussing how NOT to talk about your wife in that way. AND he was the brother doing the WT. But their imperfect so...

Obviously Jah wouldn't allow for millions of pregnancies in the new system for fear of the same problem today of overpopulation. So would He throw in sex but not allow for the women to become pregnant? OR would there be just no sex at all? The first option seems to be more likely, though that could surprisingly have downsides. The second could be considered cruel on God's part. No need to explain that.

Am I wrong about this aspect of WTS theology?
by drewcoul init seems to me, that if the wts is right, the only thing that would matter is that people are converted to the jw religion before armageddon.
all people throughout the thousands of years of human history will be resurrected according to them, right?
only except for those who are df'd when they die.

Since this is very closely related to you question, I have one of my own that needs clarification. So thousands upon millions of people with become ressurrected from the past however many years. They would know that they were essentially resurrected correct? I'm sure that those supposed resurrected ones wouldn't turn on God at that point. Not i'm no expert in population control. But if even half of all those resurrected ones came to accept the "teachings", wouldn't the population of the "New System" be no better than today, if not worse? I never wanted to ask this to a brother or sister. They who slap me for questioning Jehovah or something.

Worldly people are only nice to your face but they cannot be trusted
Worldly people are slackers on the job and only Witnesses are good employees (despite the contrary evidence all around me!)
A worldly person will steal or cheat if he gets the chance
Worldly women will drop their knickers at and seduce you if they can - so you had better be careful !
Hit it right on the nose Bluesbrother. It's funny how they judge worldy people so harshly. but looking at the in the organization, you get 5 less hours in service last month, youll get elders knocking at your door to shepard you...friends might label you at bad association...the list goes on. Frankly there's a lot more "judging" going on at the KH. And what one person says goes.

Sorry for sequential posting. Another thought. ...
My mum always discusses the badness of the "world" And say how many current witnesses who have left always come back because they realize it's not all "hunky dorey". I actually think there are many more who DONT come back as examples. Just look at this forum.

I like Mr. Falcon's analogy of North Korea: The JWs are like the North Koreans. Kept cold, hungry and not given any outside information. They are told that the outside world is evil and bad. There is just no good way to look at it. Stepford Wives. Robots.
^I LOL'd at this. Very true. Has anyone seen the movie Tangled? The daughter asks the phony "mother" on many occasions why she can't leave the tower. Her mother says it because the world is full of horrible people who want nothing more than to harm her. ...Kind of ironic really.

So heres my story:
I just turned 20 years old. Like many I was raised as a JW. My dad is a devout elder much loved in the KH. My mother if very involved in the FS. daily witnesing, every JW cliche....she's it. All my life I've had my doubts about being a witness. Is it really the Truth? Is the NWT the true bible? Do I believe in God? All very common questions among others. I was baptised in 07'. Not because I wanted to, but because it was expected of me. And if I didnt get baptised, as you all know, your looked upon as bad association, goaless, and "on the border", even worldy. My brother did it, so I did. I've been falling off in the past two years. I havent done much of anything. I avoid FS WHENEVER possible. When I do go out, I leave the magazine and say "have a nice day", hoping I won't get "brotherly" advice from whomever i'm working with at the time. I give comments at the meetings maybe once every two months. I associate with no one from the hall. Not that there's any "good" association anyway thankfully in our hall. I look forward to work three days a week to give myself something fun to do. (love my job at Disney). Currently i've been given several assignments at the KH. Mike carrying and stage. #1 &3 talks. woohoo . I avoid them if possible. Fake sick or something. My parents have noticed my stone "progress" and have discussed it on many occasions with me, attemting to subtly "encourage" me whenever they can. I ignore it. I love them but just don't want to disappoint them, which will happen inevitably when I leave and they'l likely never speak to me again. Great work Society. . Anyway, main question is...what sort of view of people and the world did you have as a witness? At work theres an elderly woman that I see every so often. She is beaming every single day and when I ask how she's doing, she says in the most sincere way that she is soo blessed and happy. When I see people like, I can't help but think what am I doing.
