Success is turning off the lights at night, and pausing near a window by the stairs, and having the moon shining in on you, and you smile to yourself because it still feels magical.
smashing mug down for emphasis, (only once though)

well this isn't just another "boohoo, i'm so depressed, bwaaa!
" thread...this is a more detailed investigation into the reason behind my sadness.
i felt like i could share it with the people on this board, as you lot in general seem to be far more emotionally sensitive than a lot of people on the internet.. i've been listening to ok computer by radiohead, and i must say, it's by far some of the most emotional music i've ever listened to.
Hi 2SYN,
Whether or not you engage in therapy, or find someone (or ones) to love (therapy is usually free of charge in that arena!) I predict that you'll cry when you are willing and able.
It seems to me sometimes that humans have a built-in sensor, a warning signal of sorts, that prevent us from going into a hyper-feeling state that could overwhelm us. On a more sardonic note, we need to keep moving from point A to point B, no tears! (added: 'no tears' is a reference to a phrase from the book Liar's Poker - no emotions allowed in this particular "game").
Being able to feel is great. But as is illustrated on this board quite dramatically sometimes , strong feelings lead to strong needs to express emotions. For some freaky reason, expressing strong passionate emotional feelings is usually not the most rewarding experience on the planet. I don't know why this is.
If circumstances find you sharing time with a trusted friend, some basic security in general, and the need to feel, go for it
Radiohead helps too, of course
I enjoy reading your posts, and think this one is very needed (speaking for myself here)

E-man, you must know that Christo tried to wrap the fence of Paris a long time ago, and he was successful. Don't try and mess with waiting's mind, here.
this place is weird lately......
PS thanks for the parody, waiting. It was a much needed humor-moment. Love to you,

an honest person desires to know the truth because falsehood works to his injury.
to first gain ones confidence and then to induce that person to believe a false representation which affects his liberty, property or life is a work of fraud upon the person deceived.. the original liar and author of fraud and deception is satan the devil.
he has induced men to publicly teach falsehood which directly affect the liberty, property and life of the people, and thereby millions of sincere and credulous persons have been deceived, defrauded and greatly injured.
Hello, HS:
Thanks for yet another insightful and thought-provoking post.
It is interesting that you characterize him as being "troubled."
The comments reminded me of a book I took in a Psych 101-type class in college in the late 70's entitled "The Adjusted American - Normal Neuroses in the Individual and Society" (Snell Putney, Gail J. Putney.)
The most salient point I remember from this book was its focus on "projection": it's easy to see and hate in other people the things you really hate about yourself. Attack them and their loathsome qualities!! One payoff is achieving mastery in self and mass-deception.
That hatred springs more from self-contempt than from a legitimate grievance is seen in the intimate connection between hatred and a guilty conscience".... Eric HofferThanks again for another appreciated contribution..

other than the kingdom songs i`m sure we must have squeezed in some time to listen to the radio between territories and on the way to the mettings.. my musical tastes vary from classical to heavy head banging music, basically i like everything!i love the cult, rush, van halen, boston, etc anything from the 80`s retro era.. but my favourite song would be everything counts by depech mode and she sells sanctuary by the cult!.
beans.
If Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, (old) Genesis or Yes recorded their own burps I would listen to it.
The fire in your eyes
Keeps me alive!

in the west we are rightly very concerned with child labour and other such matters.
western consumer groups boycott firms that have their clothes made by factories using children.
i know this is usual in europe and i guess it is in the us too.. in other areas we see no such concerns.
Responses to this one could go way off the charts, or not
and this good news of the kingdom will be preached inall the inhabited earth for the purpose of a witness to all the nations, and then the accomplished end will come.

I remember very well at some assembly or another a "deep" "new" "light" "thing" "whatever".
It was based on Matthew 10:23:
When they persecute you in one city, flee to another, for truly I say to you, You will by no means complete the circuit of the cities of Israel until the Son of man arrives. The implication was clearly stated, in their typical obfuscated (we are saying this, but we aren't really saying this, but...) fashion, that even though there are billions of people living in China and India who will never meet a JW in their lifetimes, don't worry! This scripture has a second fulfillment - ie THIS generation....
My understanding at the time after discussions with really spiritual people was that we can augment understanding of Mt 24:14 with THIS scripture. JW's don't have to put off expectation of the "end" just because they have not yet achieved complete infiltration of the entire populated earth.
Concerns about the 'innocents' who have not yet heard the jw dogma were dismissed as doubts about God's ability to judge.
Uh, yeah. Gack.
Hi, Shelby! Where've ya been?

my mate is flying this weekend to minneapolis for an interview.
it seems very likely that it will result in a wonderful career opportunity for him.
my job is pretty portable, and there's no question that i'll go with him if he accepts.. what's minneapolis/st.
You all rock. Thanks so much for the info!
Thanks for the links, Harmony.... VERY helpful! I'll definitely be in touch if we end up there, that is, if my butt is not permanently fused to the space heater. I am REALLY interested in the art gallery/framing industry. Are there some *good* frame shops in the area or have the monster mega-craft chain stores eaten them all up yet?
Thirdson, thank you for the invitation. I would be very happy to meet you and Mrs. Thirdson!
Gopher, thanks too. Uh, what is the "Mall of America?" My idea of shopping consists of knowing exactly what I need, run into store, buy it, get the hell outta there.
JanH! If half of Minneapolis is posting here, can you extrapolate the percentage of those who view Norwegians as neanderthalic?
Skip, I'm sorry you're no longer there. I could personally slap you then. (I'd apologize after though.)
POD, too late.... by brains fell out years ago
