  I have some questions regarding your sermon of Feb. 4. You said that the seven year period was from the spring of 1991 until the spring of 1998. What marked the beginning and end of this seven year period?

  You said that the message would not go to Israel after the fall of this year. Does that mean that your preaching work is over at that time?

  Starting in the fall, the Gentiles will pour in to the tune of 200 million in the next 18 months. How will we know these saved ones when we see them, or is this an invisible thing?

  In the spring of 2003, you say that a massive persecution of JWs, a trampling will begin and last for 42 months? Do you still believe that only one third of the JWs will repent during this time. If so, does this mean that the JW org. will shrink in size by that much and that they will make significant changes in what they teach in order to be "clean again?"

  Do you still believe that we should go to JW meetings, but you shouldn't?

  What should the WTBS do?!?!

  well guys sorry i haven't participated much lately, i've been really busy.

  but, i do have a question that i would really appreciate all of your input on.. it is no secret that young people are leaving jws faster and faster.

  it is no secret that most jws are disappointed, and hurt by lack of prophecy fulfillment.. so here's what i was thinking: i'm going to post some very personal thoughts on what *i* think they need to do in order to stop the loss of almost 50,000 disfellowshipped and probably 4x that to inactivity.

  I like your summary. In view of this, I think the WTBS should follow Jesus' advice and sell everything they own and give it to the poor!

  this is sort of a take-off of the "what should the wt do" thread.. i need to get together a board of directors and elect a president and officers.

  we need to figure out a doctrine, a manifesto, and a set of disciplinary rules.

  we need to figure out a way to fund our new movement.

  Seven,

  Don't let this baseball thing stumble you. As Grand Pubah of scriptural interpretation, I am sure I can find scriptures to allow your interests to fit in. Start with the "running to and fro" scripture and you can fill those sports of yours that fit. Just list them and I'm sure I and the rest of the GB will endorse them.

  I like the Vegas concept. I think we should expand our progran of a baseball game, flick chick movie, and naked baptism ceremony to include a casino night, to bring revenue or as I like to call it "that green salad of salvation."

  witnesses.net's and (a couple of years ago) hourglass2's the old hippie modestly says "hello" and enters if not the building then at least the area.

  live in europe, am - (i am sorry to say) - a countryman of the unholy trinity consisting of kent, jan h. and norm, and thus well updated with the practises of the observer-thing.

  Welcome Old Hippie,

  Or should I call you old for short. I'm 60 going on 10, was raised as a Witness, and my wife and I faded away after we go married, brothers Russell and Rutherford stumbled me. I'm a tad inactive - havne't been to a meeting in 35 years. Now you're the kind of JW I think it will be fun to talk to, still avtive, but recognize some major problems... people like that are hard to find. Welcome to our version of spiritual paradise.   Haven't heard from you for awhile. How goes it? Any comments on my last comments?

  I would be interested in your forthcoming book on Russell, Charles Taze, not Burtrand, that is. Of what I've read so far, I think Penton took a neutral stance, while Harrison had a negative bias. I would think that yours might have a positive bias or at least a positive slant. Can you be truely neutral when you are positively disposed towards the man to begin with? Anyway, I should think that your book would be thorough, with the extensive resources you have.

  Nice to meet you. Now regarding all those qualities you mentioned above, some have more than others. Now in my case, I have to address them as to where I am in terms of your questions posed here. Yes, I am demon possessed, I am full of human frailty, and I am stupid. Also, I am an apostate, I have fallen away, and I am spiritually wanten with the seal of the Korah on my eyebrow.

  I have seen these signs in bar type establishments, that read "chips .50 cents (they had a cent symbol but I can't do it on my keyboard) I told them I wanted two bags of chips and I gave them a penny. I could not get across to this one bar maid the difference between their sign and the proper designation which is "chips $.50."

  As the Director of Doctrine,

  So far we have learned that the end of the world will not be here for at least a million years, based on my precise mathimatics. Others here have shown us a better baptism service than any other religion has imagined in their wildest dreams. I have shown, without a doubt from scriptural proof that baseball is a religious experience. Well, I told you all that to tell you this.

  How should our conventions be conducted? Our conventions should be held in a baseball stadium. There is no need for long, boring talks, because we are all well versed in the scriptures and in boring talks. What we should do is have a baseball game followed be a baptism service, with all sisters getting rebaptized each summer to rededicate themselves and rejuvinate the brothers.

  I wanted to run this by the rest of the GB before I look for rental prices on a stadium.
