i've heard many people tell me about bible prophesy.
if the bible can predict future events then it stands to reason that those events are predetermined and man has no choices in this world.
think about all the choices you've made in your life and how different life for you would be if you had done things differently.

As my handle, larc, indicates, I am generaly light hearted and I enjoy humor immensely, with or without beer. When I get provoked, I tend to got off like a rocket, then calm down quickly. I don't know, Claudia, if you were here when logical was in pain and suffering and people did their best to bring him out of it. These are the very ones he attacked later. He is like a crippled, wild animal that bits those who offer help.

One thing you missed. He studied to be a Witness, but we talked him out of it. However, he now has become a follower of MDS. He went from the frying pan into the fire. Yes, he is very mean spirited. He disfellowshipped me recently because of my posts on the subject of free will.
I go to the chat room now and then to read, but I can't get in because I am on Webtv and it doesn't connect. I noticed the other day that the good Christian man we know as logical used the F word when talking to a woman. He doesn't seem to able to practice what he preaches.

Masturbation is a touchy subject (pun intended). As a father, I never discussed it with my son. I figured that he would figure out on his own, how to use his joy stick. If any man says he hasn't done it, he is either a liar or has a medical problem. What the percentage is among women, I don't know but I would guess that the percentages are up there close to 100% as well. (If not ladies, give it a try.) By the way, did you ever think about how much really good sex is missed, as a natural resource, because people are at the wrong place at the wrong time? Two ships passing in the night, as it were. It breaks my heart to even think about it.
Joke time: One night I went into the bedroom and told my wife straight out that I just had to have sex. She left the room to give me some privacy.

I am glad you found this to be a valuable resource. As you find out later in the book, the man spent 30,000 dollars of his own money to save 5 children, his cousins - children of his own sister. He fought the religion and the governmental system and won. He put his book on the internet as a free resource. He is a fine man and has done for the Amish culture what Ray Franz has done for the suffering Witnesses. Anyone fighting abuse and the system should read how he did it.
I think this book is a must read for your counselor friend.
I sent him an e mail and thanked him for his contribution. I also told him a little bit about the Jehovah's Witnesses and told him I would let people know about his work.

As a Jehovah's Witness, do you believe everything that the organization teaches you? Do you have any doubts at all, and if so, what are they? If you have doubts, do you feel comfortable enough with us to express them?

in order to qualify as spiritual israel there has to be certain fundamental characteristics or basic truths.
these basic truths are revealed in the law covenant given by moses.
and can be traced down from the nation of israel, down through the 1st century congregation, and further down until our day and time.

I have a question. If it was so important to prclaim God's name, why is it used only four times in the Old Testament, and not at all in the New Testament? Also, I understand that among the Jews the name was so sacred that it was not to be used in conversation. This does not sound like a situation where the name should be proclaimed. Your thoughts on this subject would be appreciated.
