  this is sort of a take-off of the "what should the wt do" thread.. i need to get together a board of directors and elect a president and officers.

  we need to figure out a doctrine, a manifesto, and a set of disciplinary rules.

  we need to figure out a way to fund our new movement.

  it was interpreted that i could not answer the question.

  the question was then, followed up by circare to the effect that i should comment upon it for the benefit of others who may be listening.. i have decided to respond.. these are the actual quotes, asked of me.. ...one minor point.

  Frenchy,

  On another thread, jr in defense of mds, said that Jehovah could fulfill prophesy several times. I responded that I suppose he could, but did he?, which prompted mds to start this thread. I take several to mean three or more fulfillments. I haven't seen mds offer any evidence of three or more fulfillments.

  I provided this to hopefully clarify your point two on your next to last thread.

  Could you answer my simple, straight forward series of questions before you go off on a rant on this last point?

  You seem especially loath to answer questions that are a direct reflection of your conclusions, ones where you can't pull out a long list of scriptures from a CD with a few insults sprinkled in. Let me repeat these:

  1. Why do say others should go to the kingdom hall, but you don't.
  2. Why do you say in one place that God might choose another organization and then in another place that he will cleanse the WT and not use a different organization.
  3. What will happen in 2002?
  4. Who is this 300 million cleansing class, and why does it take this many to cleanse 6 million JW's?
  5. Who must review "The Report" during the 7 year period?
  6. When does this seven years begin and end?
  7. When does the 42 months begin and end?
  8. Could you provide an operational definition of the word "trample". What does that word mean to you, in your own words?

  i am a dfshipped person who is working towards reinstatement.. i would like to meet anyone else who also would like to return.. i really would prefer not to meet people who want to criticize my desire to return.

  i would like to enjoy and offer encouragemnt to others like me.

  DF,

  Amicus read me right. I am not trying to be unfriendly. If you have private issues that you can't discuss with us, then we are pretty much at a loss as to what kind of advice to give. I am sure that you have a read a lot of very personal things we felt comfortable sharing, because there is no retribution here for doing so. If you don't feel comfortable discussing certain things, then all I can say is that you have to figure out how to overcome your own obstacles as best you can. I wish you well.

  Advantages of being a JW

  clearly there is a great deal of anti-jw sentiment here and elsewhere for that matter.

  such feelings are generally directed at those at the heart of the organisation and there are no such feelings for the rank and file who are often very genuine people.. in actual fact there are some advantages in being a fully loaded jw and to be fair it would be interesting to note them down.

  they can be factual or whimsical or both.

  I'm proud of you! The reason I asked is that I have known JWs who spouted the gifts all the time stuff, but who don't live anything to anybody, including, I think, the other person I posed the question to, who sent no reply.

  I give lots of stuff to my three adult children, my wife, and my grand daughter. Every time my grand daughter visits I give her something, which is about once a month. When she walks in I say "Happy Birthday!" She reminds me that it is not her birhtday, and I tell every time she visists it's her birhtday. She kinda likes seeing me.

  I won't tell you about my personal habits either, which my wife finds disgusting, but after 36 years of marriage, she puts up with me.

  Well,

  I don't have any really nice quotes like seven gave us, but here's how I see it. I think pride and humility are a matter of degree. I don't want to be so humble that people or oganizations run over me and I don't want to be proud to the point of araggance. (so?). I think pride is valuable when used to give you the strength to overcome obstacles and accomplish something, as long as you don't forget all those that helped you along the way. That's my humble, but proud opinion.

  Yes! Seven's right again!

  They are from the Flint area and live near Traverse City now. In Flint, there is a railroad bridge over a highway, where someone painted an F over the TR to make it read Grand Funk. It has been that way for many years and no one has pampered with.

  I saw on TV that the FBI spent over a year, and over a million dollars with sophisiticated electronic equipement to try to determine if Louie Louie had sinister words in it. They never could. (Our tax dollars at work.) They could have simply asked the musicians who sang it. As I recall, it was a simple ballad from some other country, but I can't remember the details now.
