Women and Pants

i'm still amazed that the wtbts still don't allow women to wear pants to meetings etc.

is this a disfellowshipping offense?.

As my wife grandmother use to say women wearing pants was doing the devils work. Of course she was Free Methodist. Now in WT land pants on women has always been a no no at meetings and field service. After all we don't want the women to think they are superior over the men. Something about pants and women that gets the GB going ape. LOL Totally ADD

Unbelievable! Two prayers and encouraging words in the last two days

on friday morning i got a phone call from someone who was interested in buying a utility trailer i had for sale.

the man came over and looked at it and ended up buying it.

i invited him inside our home to fill out the paper work.

Mad Sweeney: Yes it was a cause of happiness. Even today our landlord for the building we are renting for our business. Is bending over backwards to help us with the local govt. to get things going. He is well know and has some pull. He did not have to do that but he just wants to. If we had a JW landlord all he would want to know is when is our next rent check due.

Coffee House Girl: It was nice talking to you the other day with my wife. The church we might go to is also a nondenominational church. Which makes it a little more easier to try. It's very small. The pastor told us they have only about 35 people who attend. Yes we will do our research and be very careful. I don't want to end up in another cult. Which I don't think this church is. Even though Reopened Mind professes no belief becuase she went back to what she was before becoming a JW. I on the other hand as a born-in have not had the opportunity to search or nurture a belief system except what was forced on me in the JW cult. So this is a learning experience to me. Something I have never done before. Time will only tell for me.

as if the other sept. 15th wt thread i started weren't controlling enough - in another study article titled " run ..... that you may attain it " were you aware that just eating and wearing clothes on your body - might be a " stumbling block " to you ?

in a prior article on pg.

12 , paragraph 6 the wt society sets up what they are trying to get across by stating, " people of the world tend to seek personal interests first as " men of this system of things, whose share is this life.

Hi flipper. All I can say is a cult is a cult because it is a cult. I forsee in the near furture. Groups of JW living in shacks lined with Wt. Maz. out in the middle of nowhere running around wearing rags for clothing yelling it's all still a burden, it's all still a burden. Beating themselves on their backs with WT approved whips crying out that they are not doing enough. So the WT sends them a new Wt. Maz. article on what to do. Now they are still doing all that they were doing before but without the Wt. Maz. lined shacks. LOL Totally ADD

My public talk on sunday

i am currently preparing for the public talk on sunday and as i was looking through the outline some these thoughts just keep popping up my mind that in the face of several allegations and numerous scandal, wbts has not stopped claiming to be god's organisation, i am wondering if they will ever realise that their strategies are no longer appealing to the general public.

regrettably, they keep on publishing and printing using victims of mind control hazards to the detriment of over 7 million rank and file members and spiritual illiterates in the society.

i keep on pondering on how long this malicious activity would continue.

I must have given that talk 100 times when I was a elder. The last talk I gave was about 6 months before I left. Already knowing the truth about the truth I had a hard time getting through it. So I focus on love and understanding. The outline lean towards that so thats what I went with. Totally ADD

Nobleheart: That is my problem the KH is all I know. I am sure if I attend a church I will be mildly surprised. At any rate if it is like what I experience this last weekend it should be a positive day.

Nickolas: I am with you on your thoughts. I will be very careful about all this. Like any business you always but up a good face when it comes to your product. But then what if they really do care? I would be a fool not to find out. Caution will be my middle name.

Honesty: I can see that now. Life is worth living. Getting to know other people and what they believe.

Ding: Wise counsel. If I do feel uncomfortable about something I will go to the pastor and talk to him instead of running away. Thank you for the invite to PM you. I will in the next few days.

i'm a long time lurker here.. i'm not and never have been a jw, but i am trying to get an understanding of what it means to be disfellowshipped for the sake of someone i know.. my husband and i pastor a small church, we're nothing special, just a group of people who get together to seek god.

we're open to everyone and people pop in as they want to.

recently a woman in her early twenties has started turning up.

Welcome to the forum. I too have just left the cult. Notice I said cult. That is exactly what the WT is. Was she a convert or a born-in? This will help you to understand where she is coming from. If she is a born-in that is all the reference point she has. If she is a convert you may be able to relate to her on what it was like not to be a JW. JW are taught not to trust anyone who is not a JW. Even then they are told not to trust certain JW in the congregation. It's all about control. That is what cults do and the WT is damm good at it. For now, be her friend and show her unconditional love. In JW cult it's all conditional on if you listen to the leaders of the WT. You will find she will respond to your understanding, empathy, the unconditional love. Help her with reading material. Suggest books like Steve Hassen book on "Combating Cult Mind Control" also Ray Franz book "Crisis Of Conscience". These two books will help her greatly. Also it will help you to understand JW cult better. Good luck in helping your friend she is very lucky to have you there. Totally ADD

troubled mind: Thank you for your experience. I may be going down the same path. I can't say I will never give a talk of JW in a church. It's more like when will I feel right about doing it. On my 1,000 mile quest I am on I am about 450 miles into it. I glad to hear others had the same experience.

Sulla: Hello. It's good to meet you. Yes in JW land everybody is evil except them and even then they teach you to be suspicious of others in JW land. So when you come across this kindness outside the cult it really helps you to see the lie the WT espouses.

Thank you all for your comments I hope this thread gives others the encouragement to find friend outside the JW cult. All we have to do is reach out and trust someone to talk to. It does take alot of courage but it is well worth it. Totally ADD

WT Society Has to be Forced by Courts to Reveal Hidden Child Abuses

in one of the new pieces of information in the new elders manual - section 5:18 - it shows how elders are instructed to keep all judicial committee information private from media or attorneys.

keeping in mind how secretive the wt society has been in hiding child abuse within the jehovah's witnesses notice these instructions to elders now.. it states, " if a member of the media or an attorney representing the accused ( or possibly victims ) contacts the elders , they should not give him any information about the case or verify there is a jc.

rather, they should give the following explanation, " the spiritual and physical welfare of jehovah's witnesses is of paramount concern to the elders, who have been appointed to " shepherd the flock ".

Hi flipper. I think this child abuse that is going on in JW land is going to be their achilles heel. I feel this will be their down fall. Even the most brain dead JW when they get all the imformation on this matter will wake-up. I may be wrong but a old guy like me can only dream. Totally ADD
