  Update on my Dad after week long elders school.....

  just spoke to my mum and she said dad is exhausted after the elders school although he did enjoy it.. so he gets a call to attend an elders meeting in his cong.. .

  he has told them he's not attending as he has other plans.

  he is taking my mum out for the day instead..

  As any JW who attend a WT sponsored event, the slave class knows what we need and they provoded abundantly...it was the best convention ever...dare say otherwise!

  Pronouncing things differently so they don't sound rude. Typical CULT persona. Political correctness?

  i noticed over the years how bros & sis(tm) would pronounce words/names differently or totally substitute them so as not to sound offensive.. egs:.

  instead of 'bible aids' a bro(tm) said 'bible helps' thus avoiding aids disease!?!.

  instead of sodom the bro(tm) pronounced it 'sow dom'.

  About a decade ago there was a revised version of the NWT in French where names of prophets, including the bible book they wrote, and kings were changed to be closer to their original pronunciation. Of course the name of the most known were not changed...still for a while it was very confusing. I just couldn't figure out why the WTS is so concerned about the accuracy of the names of prophets when it accept that Jehovah may not be the accurate rendition of god's name. This led to debates on the meticulously precise pronunciation of names. Some brothers would mispronounce a name and the whole congregation would mimic the same mistake. Today I realize this was a diversion to occupy the brothers mind on meaningless things. BTW should I say DAW RY US or Dari us....

  Satanus, If you are aluding to the Calgary DC, I just had a "friend" say that Jehovah's hand made it possible for the Edmonton Rexall arena to be available July 5-7......takes an idiot not to know that hockey arenas may be available during the off season!

  I was also amazed when someone posted the 70's Awake that bared the title of this year's special talk: Is it later than you think. I guess the WT needs to recycle their old material for the new converts...

  A few weeks ago she posted that she would no longer participate in this forum...until a few days ago when I saw her comment on a few posts...She lives in my area and I still have to make good on the promise to meet her in person...

  Any Good Governing Body Voice Imatators That Can Do Funny Remakes Of Talks?

  am3 sound awful and kinda nerdy and kinda gay, on his talk about higher education he nasally say "now that's rediculous, were not against education".

  stephan letts got a very funny voice too, as his mouth opens unusually wide and his facial expression with his eyes opened wide has a strange resemblence to marshall applewhite.. gerrit losch just plain old boring and basically un animated, he probably put more people asleep when he talks than any other gb member alive or dead.

  he don't like sports and is probably getting old and cranky.. david splane and his famous newlight talk about consolidation of power to the gb/f&ds "and brothers the governing body loves this idea as it truley dignifies the great crowd" should be easy to copy and build on.. freddy plaid shirt franz, has a fun voice to imatate and to has a great potential for lots of laugh as he waxes on about bible verse and delusional interpetations.. karl marble mouth klein, was hard to understand.. i'm sure some talented voice imatators could do a funny side splitting job on youtube that has the potential to be hilarious..

  3Dog1Husband...a JW friend on Facebook said the same. ..no DC tomorrow. She added : poor brothers and sisters, its devastating. I replied it is also devastating for everyone else...just saying. Waiting for her reaction. The JWs lack of empathy for nonbelievers really bothers me.

  Edit...just got back to me saying she is concerned about them too of course...

  here i am, getting old and having my teeth and fillings (literally!

  ) falling apart now, and barely any dental coverage.

  i just feel so sad and pissed off that i didn't do more when i was a jw and actually had coverage at the time.... .

  MW...your story reminded me of when I was younger and feared the dentist. Prior to any visit to the dentist I would pray every night for the big A to arrive so I wouldn't have to go through the needles and the drilling...

  we all were told, even in these stupid songs we sang at the kingdom hall that our brothers would die for us because they loved us so much!

  they had the love of jesus christ so deep, they would do anything to make sure we stayed aboard the patterson ark.. .

  now i can't create a fancy time-line like the july 15, 2013 watchtower that shows all those cool pictures and charts.

  It is a gorgeous, sunny Sunday

  i'm so glad i have been able to be puttering around my yard, planting flowers, pulling weeds, drinking coffee while on the porch, instead of being locked in a stuffy kingdom hall, being bored to death, watching the clock and hoping nobody was going to be long-winded on the comments at the watchtower and we would end up overtime.

  isn't it great to be able to have a leisurely sunday morning?.

  Earlier today I rode my motorcycle by the Auditorium and saw that the parking lot was full...The sign above the main entrance read: Watch Tower Convention...for a short moment I remembered how the last few hours of the Sunday sessions were torture and I just couldn't wait for the convention to end. Of course, the closing prayer would serve as a review of the whole program and would include how this was the best convention ever....blah,blah,blah. I twisted the throttle and sped away free to enjoy the beautiful day.
