Am I nuts or something?
by Terry ini retired in the middle of may.. i know many of you would love to have endless free time on your hands too.. right?.
ummm, well..... i'm use to being very active.
i use to stand on my feet eight hours a day.. at the bookstore i'd have to squat, stoop, stretch, lift, walk.. i had to sort, answer question, make change.

Terry, just my two cents, but you might want to get a life. Unless you are obsessed with cult-dabbling, you might want to leave well enough alone.
Instead, you might want to look at organizations or groups that you are passionate about and then do some volunteer work.

Disfellowshipped a threat?
by truthseeker1969 insooooooooooooooooooooo would i be right in assuming that the sitting at the back of the hall, no contact, no answering mean that the spirituality of the congregation is not that strong?.
to me it would seem that elders are scared that a disfellowshipped person is more strong in reasoning and knowledge than the rank and file of the congregation.. i wonder how many elders are "infected" by the disfellowshipped person but are so caught up in being an under lord they just carry on?
i wonder how many within the congreation are sick of elders throwing people out for free thinking?.

Hi, Newbie Here
by Iseenow inwell i have been lurking for the past couple of weeks and have finally decided to create an account.
just wanted to introduce myself and relate my life story in the borg, specifically from the past few weeks- which i think has been a lot easier than many on the board.
anyway, my mum began to study when i was 10 (2005) and since then has been babtized; she strongly believes it is the truth.

by koolaid-man inwhat would you do to disconnect from the jehovah's witnesses?
some actually go as far as commiting a wrong to deliberately get disfellowshipped.. the disfellowshipping becomes their "ticket to ride" right out of the organization.
former jehovah's witness carrie was not happy growing up in the so called "truth".

by Open mind intoday's wt lesson: serving jehovah with all seriousness, excerpt from paragraph 11:.
"if a brother has been baptized at least one year and to a reasonable degree meets the scriptural qualifications for ministerial servants outlined at 1 timothy 3:8-13, he can be recommended for appointment.".
how often have you seen someone become a ministerial servant one year after baptism?
