Flee from "Old Light"!

some witnesses fail to realize that "old light" is far more dangerous than any apostate writing.

i saw evidence of this when i reviewed "rutherford's rainbow" on amazon.com and mentioned that witnesses were discouraged from reading the old literature.

many witnesses responded that i was lying as they'd never been told this, and in fact had old literature on their shelves (which witnesses evidently equate with having read a book [e.g., see here where a witness justifies her ability to review the finished mystery without ever having read it by saying "i have it on my cd".]).

Would you go running back?

if the tribulations started tomorrow, and all you knew of the bible was what the jws had told you, would you suddenly think, "they said this would happen, and it is, therefore they must be right", and go running back?.

or would you think, "just because eventually biblical prophiesies came to pass that "they" had read you from the bible, doesnt mean they are the chosen religion, because they get all these other doctrines wrong", and know these doctrines well enough to be able to convince yourselves.. .

replies such as "it wont happen cause its a fairy story" wont really help..

through out history, mankind's governments and religious organizations have restricted their citizens from reading, viewing and speaking any information that was critical or expressed a different viewpoint other than was taught by the government or religion.

Enjoyed this post. Loved the part about how Jehovah's Witnesses are conned into believing they reached these conclusions on their own, the reality being they were indoctrinated by not being able to consider any other viewpoint. Very well stated points throughout. Thanks.

Going Beyond What Is Written In The Bible

the watchtower society have once again ignored the tent makers wise words to not go beyond what is written in the bible.. how many times has the watchtower society gone beyond what is written in the bible?.

Where is it written that to be a ministerial servant you need to have at least 10 hours of field service on your report consistantly and be highly visable at meetings and field service meetings? That's what the young brothers are told they must do. Looking at the scripture, I see no such stipulation.
