OK I started my studies with all the major religons and got really interested in TAO love the Tao de Ching. But I found Buddhism to have so much more depth to it and much more explanation to what life is and how it works including a blue print to life. Would like to talk to you more about this. Also to hear how you made the change. If your open to contacting me.

Well I am some what fimilar with Zen, however Zen does not really encourage one to study the sutras. I have found my Buddhism to be a great support and enhancement to my life. How long ago did you practice and any reason why you quit? Did you study any other forms of Buddhism?

Interesting experience at my Buddhist Kaikan
by foster inso i converted to buddhism in 1990. sgi to be specific.
so we had some visitors lately from a local synagogue it appears that there is some "new light" taking place in the jewish faith.
there are now members and leaders and some scholars that are defining god as not an intellectual being but as a force or law.

So I converted to Buddhism in 1990. SGI to be specific. So we had some visitors lately from a local Synagogue it appears that there is some "New Light" taking place in the Jewish faith. There are now members and leaders and some scholars that are defining God as not an intellectual being but as a force or Law. A universal force that does not take judgment more cause and effect.
This is really interesting which is why they came to our center as this is what Buddhism teaches after services they asked for someone to come and present an overview of the teaching so they and their congregation (if that is the right word) could better understand this concepts and its effect on their religion. Gives me thoughts to ponder....

Witness to all the Nations - Re: More stupidity and flunky WT activities.....assisting other congregations with their territories.
by foster inthis good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
" (matthew 24:14) today, that prophecy is in the course of fulfillment on an unprecedented scale.
true, untouched territories still exist, and it may be that in jehovahs due time, a large door leading to greater activity will open.

This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come." (Matthew 24:14) Today, that prophecy is in the course of fulfillment on an unprecedented scale. True, untouched territories still exist, and it may be that in Jehovah’s due time, a large door leading to greater activity will open. (1 Corinthians 16:9) Nevertheless, the Bible does not state that Jehovah will wait until every individual on earth has received a personal witness. Rather, the good news must be preached to Jehovah’s satisfaction. Then the end will come.—
OK so preaching to everyone will never happen too many people too many places. But this scripture that the WT uses about a witness to all the nations. All I can ever think about is how this relates the UN scandal. When the Gaurdian (British Press) exposed the WTBTS as a NGO in the UN. Then they suddenly revoked their status. However the comment from the UN's Public Relations Dept was what REALLY HIT ME!!!!
The Guardian had shown some of the UN staff what the WT had printed about the UN being the Beast. PR Spokeswoman said "We had no idea that was what they thought of the UN, we were completly stunned"
Now if the Society is suppose to be preaching for a witness to all the nations and somehow they can't even get word across the Brooklyn Bridge to the UN in the same city then how on Earth will they ever be able to get this job done. They have 100 years and not only did the UN have no idea but it turns out that some "worldly" publication/press ended up doing their job for them. Let's just face it the Society and JWs are a complete failure on all accounts.

Got "THE letter" ....how to proceed?
by 2pink inmy husband and i faded/mysteriously disappeared from meetings over a year ago.
we've had a few visits from elders (where we said very little but thanked them for their time), the last one being when we had some nice jack o lanterns sitting on our porch.
on saturday, we got letters cordially inviting us to our beheading, i mean, our judicial committee meeting.

I remember years ago being approached by an elder to set up a meeting and I just said "no" never went back never heard from them or anyone again. I ended up moving out of town but no action was taken, I think they just didn't know what to do when someone said simply "No" Next time don't open or accept any mail just have it returned unopened.

Yes I did see it and it is a good record from an historical perspective. I myself have converted to Buddhism, I am member of SGI-USA www.sgi-us.org I am much happier now and feel like I have the ability to change my life and create happiness that was never there before as a JW.
