So sorry for your loss. You can never replace a loving parent.
God bless.
she's been really bad for quite a while, and passed away in her sleep.
she lived to be a ripe old age, and even got to meet some of her great-great grandchildren (not mine... i don't have any kids), which is not something that can be said for a lot of people.
she loved music, and took organ lessons for many of the last years of her life, something that we really connected on, despite the fact that she was a, for lack of a better word, crazy jw that pioneered for years after she wasn't able to attend meetings in person.. from what i understand, the majority of people people never meet their great-grandparents, and for that i should consider myself lucky, but still i'll miss her.

hi everyone.
as a parting gift to you all before i take a much needed break from this forum, i thought you would be pleased to know that the independent, a leading uk newspaper, will be publishing a piece on the "mentally diseased" watchtower article in tomorrow's edition.. i would like to thank everybody who has assisted the journalist, jerome taylor, in his investigation.. best wishes to all of you,.
cedars.
Good job, Cedars...enjoy your break.
i was a hair away from telling my wife i never wanted to go to the kingdom hall again after today's watchtower.
the conductor mentioned something along the lines of..."if you think having to shun your disfellowshipped children is bad...you should read up on the israelites.
when one of their children was disobedient to the law, they had to take the before the judges so that they could be stoned to death...and guess who's job it was throw the first stone?".
Yes, those laws should go deeper, and stop the insanity of the WTS. This bullying and Harassment of families who have dissagreement of thoughts should be stopped.
The ORG may have won this battle against those who have shown love towards DF'd family members through this printed article, but, they will not win the battle.
My family decided not to attend this WT study as well. We were actually visiting our DF'd relative doing that "Necessary Family Business" Suck on that you FDS. Yup, you missed us......here we are.....no, not there.....here....wrong again.....keep looking.....We're everywhere
this card that is being made compulsory for those that provide some voluntary service in australia, is there other conditions attached to it?.
for instance, is there something there that involves political, or something that would render it a concience matter?.
just hope that it doesn't get spinned to say that it conflicts with someone's religious right or concience, like in malawi.. i remember when such a licence to preach was being enforced in quebec, canada the jw's won that contest.

I remember when such a licence to preach was being enforced in Quebec, Canada the JW's won that contest. It was because the politicians were breaking the same rules as the Society was re. hours of restrictions, and the right to freely express themselves at the doors.

That's righ WT Wiz, what would Jesus do if he was at that KH.
I don't see the mind of Christ in the FDS class. They have distinguished that those that disagree with their policies, and to be punished. It's a Scribe and pharasee thing. I know what Jesus did in his day to those that imposed heavy burdens on the people.
the scandal in australia is about the society of jehovah's witnesses refusing to file with the government of australia information that would identify persons who have been suspected of child molestation.
but in the past the watchtower has instructed their people to obey the law of the land as it pertains to interracial marriage.. http://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/quotes/black-skin.php.
"in a few places, there are even laws making interracial marriages illegal.
Wow, this is incredible.
dublin news story contains a blatant lie from the mouth of a jw spokesman:.
http://www.thejournal.ie/need-for-discussions-between-hospitals-and-jehovahs-witness-patients-234833-sep2011/.
a court order granted today to allow the coombe hospital give a baby a blood transfusion against the wishes of her parents underscores the need for more discussions to take place between hospital staff and patients, says a dublin branch of jehovahs witnesses.. harry homan, from the south dublin hospital liaison committee said that the issue highlighted the relationship between hospital staff and jehovahs witness patients.. he said, however, that there is already healthy discussions happening across the country.. the parents in this case are very happy with the hospital and the care being give to their baby, homan told thejournal.ie.. there is an excellent relationship between the parents and staff and the child is receiving the best of care.. he added that a blood transfusion will only be given to the premature baby as a last resort.. at the moment, she is doing well, said homan.. rte reports that the transfusion will be given to the baby if her condition deteriorates and it is necessary to save her life.. hospitals are acutely aware of the dangers associated with blood transfusions, claimed homan, adding that it is in everyones best interests to seek alternatives.. he said the position of jehovahs witnesses is perfectly clear on the matter of blood transfusions.. we do refuse transfusions, he said.
Really, Gene Smalley has that much power over the FDS?
Loved that picture, Outlaw....it made me laugh.

Jehovah, doesn't even disfellowship in his Kingdom. He allowed, Satan and the rebellious sons to exist in the Heavens. They had a free voice, as it says in the first chapter of Job. Eventually, he had them removed, but did deal with them and not shun them. Jesus did have discussions with Satan and so called Rebellious Angels, while he was here on earth. Was that Necessary Business?
however, love for god and for his.
our love for god and his dear son = is of no value unless we are part of the human/earthly organization, the wts.
how many scriptures are actually read and applied at a meeting?
Thanks, Blondie.
Two things bothered me with today's study.
1) Necessary Business: Act 6:1-3 uses that term. It refers to" Necessary Business", when speaking about the 7 Certified men. These men were appointed to help with distributing food and serving the needs of the widows in the first century. There was no mystery on how they would interpret this term. However, in Modern Days, in the days where the FDS have found is necessary to make adjustments, refinements, they have mistified this term. They do so with accusing families of DF's relatives in missusing this provision. How harse it is to rub into their faces, that were it back in Moses day, their relatives would be stoned. I think that they are taking a hard stand on DF people, and are afraid that they will lose more, so they are missapplying, or redefining this phrase. They are trying to retract that phrase.
2) It like the Higher Education article. I remember when it first came out quite some time ago. When it first came out, it stated that Higer Learning was only to be pursued if the person was doing so to Pioneer. Then, they found out that this wasn't happening. Now they took it back. Now you face congregational criticism if anyone pursues this course. Even those whose parents are serving in some congregational capacity face punishment.
Refining indeed. It's more like a control mechanism. How gullible some are in swallowing this.
i was talking the other day with a fellow board member about medical emergencies occuring at meetings and how we both agreed that we ( while jw's ) had never seen a meeting stop or be cancelled due to medical emergencies experienced by a fellow jw.
the wt society trains jw' s to lose their authentic human feelings or any empathy towards others physical or emotional sufferings many times.
so many times at meetings , in spite of someone suffering a serious medical emergency it was " the show must go on " type of attitude displayed by congregation elders.. my first experience at seeing a medical emergency at the kingdom hall was an older sister who had an epileptic attack.
I was in charge of the first aid at Circuit Assemblies. Had to call the ambulance many times. Had some who experienced shut down of kidneys, and some fainting. The show must go on...we had a separate private room to deal with these med. emergencies.
Once a Circuit Oversseer, couldn't complete his assembly part. He just walked off the platform. He never went back there again. He just works full-time and supports his wife. He couldn't be any happier. He does nothing in the congregation, and wouldn't be bothered.
