  should marijuana be considered a disfellowshipping offense?

  there's plenty of evidence that tobacco has cancer causing agents and can thus be deemed a defilement of the flesh.. .

  therefore, since we have these promises, beloved ones, let us cleanse ourselves of every defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in gods fear.

  Specifically about the resurrection, the scripture quoted about people not being married after is Matt 22:29,30:

  "In reply Jesus said to them: “YOU are mistaken, because YOU know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God; for in the resurrection neither do men marry nor are women given in marriage, but are as angels in heaven."

  When you're eyes are opened, perhaps you don't marry after you're resurrected because you're actually angels, and no longer have a human body, but a spiritual one.

  I remember getting counseled once by an elder about not praying for that extra portion of HS.. he quoted John 3:34 :

  "(John 3:34) For the one whom God sent forth speaks the sayings of God, for he does not give the spirit by measure."

  we have a drive at our new ajwrb.org site for donating blood for witnesses!

  great publicity campaign, as people will finally realize that jehovah's witnesses do take blood transfusions!time to end the word-game charade.

  bttt - I gave blood for the first time just the other day. It was a pretty cool experience, and completely painless. Took about 60 minutes, as I was a brand new donor.

  Worried about my friend

  i have a friend who has been a jw for a couple years (baptized).

  she might have to undergo gallbladder surgery.

  i'm worried for her (about the blood issues)and have made that known.

  I have the need for some gallbladder surgery, and the way it was explained by my doc and by pictures, the organ is located in a pretty sensitive area with lots of major arteries, so something can go wrong in a hurry and blood may be needed.

  as jesus could not have two bodies at the same time, his "spiritual body" could not continue to exist while he was "human.".

  it is said that jesus came to earth as a human, but if his spirtual body was destroyed, what was left to "come" to earch?.

  me: well it's kinda complicated.

  they think god exists according to various beliefs, but that he is all powerful and does all that is best for everyone.. (she collapsed in laughter at this for a full 2 minutes then composed herself).

  mary: so they really think he is all powerful and uses his power to do what is best for everyone?.
