From this morning's web grab bag of information (grin).
A strange thing about this illustration is that the woman is portrayed as having 1 lost hand already. Is that meant to imply that this is the second time she's had to grab a man's dik in order to save her husband's life? If so, if I was an elder back then I believe I would have to consider counselling her to find a new husband

DesirousOfChange: "Are straight guys really all that concerned about underwear fashions these days? Or is this just something trending in the gay community"
Well. DOC. if you want change, then these videos seem to be evidence of change. I have little doubt that they attract Same Sex Attracted Guys, but some of the videos seem to marketing exercises (by the manufacturers) aimed at so called 'str8' guys and their women folk.
It may be evidence of cultural changes in attitudes toward sexuality. Perhaps the attitudes that can be perceived in some Asian areas is filtering through into western nations.

During Australia's lockdowns and other reactions to the batty virus. I've been spending more time studying my history interests via the internet and its many possibilities. One area is quite interesting. Youtube, not only has tons of rubbish, but also many academic level video lectures and other quite good historical information.
Amid all that 'good' stuff and the 'rubbish', there's a thin middle layer, and I'd class social trends as one of the areas of that 'thin' layer.
Recently, I became aware of a number of very short videos, by makers of male underwear, They all seem to have one thing in common well-built young men (No old daggy duffers like me- and I assume most other male xjws posting here) in a myriad of poses exhibiting underwear designed in a previously unimaginable differences, but all seemingly designed to enhance an essential part of manliness, as they contort their bodies into different poses, all designed to draw attention to their maleness.
I realise that once you look at one or two of these short videos, YT's programming likely starts pushing them at you, but it seems that are many more makers of fashion male underwear than there were when I was young. In the Australia in which I grew up there was (in memory) only one brand (Bonds) only on colour (white) but offering a choice of style (2) -briefs or trunks,
Now, well judge for yourself ...

Do humans have the right to live on this planet?
We have, in much less than a century, managed to fill the earth with so much plastic waste that tiny fragments of plastic have been found on the highest mountains and the deepest ocean depths. Not satisfied with doing that, we stupidly continue to do it. That's not the only stupid thing that humans have done, however. I wont try to enumerate the silly/stupid things we do, but focus on this one: This headline describes what may possibly solve the human problem for the earth.
TOXIC CHEMICALS THREATEN HUMANITY’S ABILITY TO REPRODUCE
In a new book, epidemiologist Shanna Swan looks at the impact of environmental chemicals on human sexuality and reproductive systems.
-------------------------------------------------------------
That's a headline in The Intercept (requoted in the UK Guardian.
Quote: "SHANNA SWAN IS the senior author of a 2017 study that documented a dramatic drop in sperm counts in Western countries over the past half-century. That meta-analysis of 185 studies involving 42,935 men found that total sperm count fell 59 percent between 1973 and 2011. Swan, a reproductive epidemiologist, pointed to the role of environmental chemicals in that trend. Now she has written “Count Down: How Our Modern World Is Threatening Sperm Counts, Altering Male and Female Reproductive Development, and Imperiling the Future of the Human Race,” a book that ties industrial chemicals in everyday products to a wide range of changes taking place in recent years, including increasing numbers of babies born with smaller penises; higher rates of erectile dysfunction; declining fertility; eroding sex differences in some animal species; and potentially even behaviors that are thought of as gender-typical."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The UK Guardian's re-write of the article cites some details; (Link:https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/mar/18/toxic-chemicals-health-humanity-erin-brokovich?fbclid=IwAR0NFDk1TVZDqjmJY3ecBLK7hSQFh2L-y8owNsQ0VpNym3TFkdBMzsNSs08 )
Quote: "Following the trajectory we are on, Swan’s research suggests sperm counts could reach zero by 2045. Zero. Let that sink in. That would mean no babies. No reproduction. No more humans. Forgive me for asking: why isn’t the UN calling an emergency meeting on this right now?
The chemicals to blame for this crisis are found in everything from plastic containers and food wrapping, to waterproof clothes and fragrances in cleaning products, to soaps and shampoos, to electronics and carpeting. Some of them, called PFAS, are known as “forever chemicals”, because they don’t breakdown in the environment or the human body. They just accumulate and accumulate – doing more and more damage, minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day. Now, it seems, humanity is reaching a breaking point.
Swan’s book is staggering in its findings. “In some parts of the world, the average twentysomething woman today is less fertile than her grandmother was at 35,” Swan writes. In addition to that, Swan finds that, on average, a man today will have half of the sperm his grandfather had. “The current state of reproductive affairs can’t continue much longer without threatening human survival,” writes Swan, adding: “It’s a global existential crisis.” That’s not hyperbole. That’s just science.
As if this wasn’t terrifying enough, Swan’s research finds that these chemicals aren’t just dramatically reducing semen quality, they are also shrinking penis size and volume of the testes. This is nothing short of a full-scale emergency for humanity.
Swan’s book echoes previous research, which has found that PFAS harms sperm production, disrupts the male hormone and is correlated to a “reduction of semen quality, testicular volume and penile length”. These chemicals are literally confusing our bodies, making them send mix messages and go haywire."

There always have been 'unofficial' study groups, I imagine there always will be. The 'apostate' ideas that developed in the late 1970's/early 1980s in Brooklyn Bethel grew through these unofficial study groups. The WT leadership will never forget that!!!!

Thnx for posting this video. It's great to see a young witness actually reasoning with himself about the rubbish beliefs in the bible.
Most people (including most christians) react on 'feelings' not reason. If everyone had to attend a course on critical thinking, there would be few christians (and jws) in the world. Sadly, that's not the situation,

Have JEHOVAH ever supported WARS between his WORSHIPPERS?
by Longlivetherenegades injehovah's witnesses used to state other christian denominations go to war and in fact that their religious leaders bless such wars.
they see this as one reason why all other christian denominations are not true christians since they kill one another at war and therefore they don't love one another as stated by jesus in john 13: 34,35.. for example when a roman catholic go to war, he/she is bound to kill a fellow roman catholic in the cause of the war.
therefore roman catholic can't be true christians since its member don't love one another and kill one another at war and as such god cannot be in support of such wars where his worshippers kill one another.. the question that comes for consideration is, has jehovah ever supported wars between his own worshippers?.

You wrote, " the account teaches that the precious life of a woman, brought to a terrible end like that, will be avenged by the elimination of tens of thousands that by associating were connected to it."

Moses got it wrong- The Ark was round
by fulltimestudent innot a new subject, i think i have posted on this before, as well as others.
but, i came across a british museum video (on youtube) in which a bm curator tells of his discovery of a cuneiform tablet outlining the assyrian story of the flood and the (round) ark.. the bm curator was dr irving finkel, deputy keeper of middle east at the british museum, he explains that one day a member of the public brought in an old family heirloom.
it all started with a fairly normal event for a museum: a member of the public bringing in an old family heirloom - a cuneiform tablet from around 1750 bc which proved to be one in a million.. finkel proceeded to decipher this tablet.

Finkel has also written a book on this important find. I find it interesting as it demonstrates that there were intercultural sharings of ideas, beliefs and stories.
If you would like more details, then you may find Finkel's book interesting:
If you cant get access to the book at some library or bookshop, then this 58 minute video of a talk that Finkel gave at the University of Chicago's Oriental Institute a reasonable alternative.
