MR. Prager, as we may expect from his talk, is described as a 'social conservative.' Much of what he says does describe the attitudes of people today.
But, is socialism the only reason people are like he describes? I am, of course, unsure as to whether Mr. Prager has discussed other aspects of politics as a cause for furthering human selfishness.?
For instance, what about western democracy? I live in Sydney and here in this year of 2019, we will have two elections. In the first, an election for the state government of NSW, both sides are busy promising the world to us voters. The governing party, if it loses, will lose plum ministerial salaries and the ability to reward tts supporters. Isn't that a form of selfishness? The opposition, of course, hopes to gain those rewards. So are they not also driven by selfishness? Both parties have had their share of bad governmental mistakes while in office, so I'm not sure if either group can promise good government.
And, in about 4 months we will have a National election. Already the promises of more money are flowing in key electorates, That WILL get worse as the election nears.
So if Prager is correct that socialism promotes selfishness, I can wonder what he thinks about democracy promoting selfishness?
