As skeeter said, be careful and tactful. Otherwise she could do what witnesses usually do - complain to the boss about "persecution".

Funny experience last night...
by pronomono inmy story in brief..... after being a born-in, getting baptized at 15, and seeking to excel based on the approval of elders and my parents, i hit a bump in the road.
i moved to a new congregation, and was a little more than disheartened by the lack of love.
with all my responsibilities removed from the recent move and being told that i no longer qualified for responsibilities due to my declining activity, i sat down to do some long overdue research to appreciate our spiritual heritage.

Good for you! You did a good thing by telling him you'll be there for him. Your behavior gave a good "witness" to him about how unloving the organization is. You showed interest in him as a person. "Actions speak louder than words."

The fornication one would make a good commercial for "Sparlock brand condoms" and what happens when you don't use them. Sparlock uses them. So ask yourself, what would Sparlock do?

So if they wwere in a skyscraper, and the sister climbed out the window and was on a ledge ready to jump, they would tell her not to jump, they'd read some scriptures to her...and then they'd leave her on the ledge and they'd go on their way, inside the building.

In the suicidal video, notice that they are not at all interested in her as an individual or her problems. Their only concern - their only purpose in meeting with her - is to get her to "stick with the program".
But, our dear sister, think about poor Brother Smith who has to compile the field service reports. If you kill yourself, he won't be able to get your hours from you and submit the report to the society by the 5th of the month. That would not be very loving on your part, now would it?

When you bring your lunch, bring along extra's to feed others
by Quarterback inlast week's service meeting had brought out the experience in the 2013 yb about sharing their lunch with someone in the audience, who didn'y have anything.
although i beleive this to be a good idea, but, i couldn't help but think how things had changed.
the society wasn't playing by that same principle of hospitality, when they had the food arrangement at the assemblies.

Well then why didn't the 5 wise virgins share their oil with the 5 foolish virgins? And doesn't the Bible say, "Each one must carry his own load"?
Seriously, though, if someone was too poor to bring their own meal, they are probably too poor to travel to the convention site anyway. (Except for local homeless people who might wander in looking for a free meal.) Usually those with special needs - elderly, single moms, etc - are either brought there by someone else (who can feed them) or receive financial help through their congregation so that they can attend. For example, a single mom "in good standing", the congregation might pay for her gas money, motel room and meals.
Myself, if I was too poor to afford to bring my own lunch (let's say if I had lost my job or something) I would not merely show up and hope to receive a handout. I'd make arrangements beforehand...ask for help from a friend or from the congregation.
Another thought. Why should the publsihers bring extra food to feed other attendees? Let the society set up an arrangement for them. They can add it to the cost of having the convention there, and recoup it from the contributions.

Notice in the suicide one that they do not care about her or her problems. Their only concern - their purpose in meeting with her - is to get her to "stick with the program". It doesn't matter if she says she plans to kill herself, or if she says she is terminally ill, or whatever. Their responses would be the same.
Reminds me of the field service presentation where they recite a rehearsed question ("Have you ever wondered.." or "Do you think..") then they let the householder respond, then - no matter what the householder's response is - they say, "Many people feel that way today," and they continue with their presentation.

These are indeed pathetic to watch! Their Pharisee-like attitude is very obvious. You can clearly see that they are emotionally abusive, trying to drill into the publisher's head that he/she is sinful and filthy, and in need of their authority in order to be deemed worthy of God's forgiveness and salvation.
